Crafty magic

I love to shop at thrift stores, yard sales, flea markets and what not. And, I love to be crafty. I especially love it when those two worlds collide.

I recently found this innocent little stool at at thrift shop.

With the magic of oil cloth, vintage ball fringe and a staple gun, I turned it into this.

Perfect for the girls to use while using their sewing machines or while sitting at the puzzle table laboring over a puzzle. Both of which are common occurrences around these 'dem 'dar parts.

  17. I love this! I should email you a picture of an old school sewing box that was freecycled to me. It has legs like this and I covered it with fabric for my daughter's room and we keep her shoes in it. Now I want to go and get a stool too! Do you want to come to my house and recover a chair for me?

  21. Oh, we should flea market together! ;) I haven't done it in years. I love that little stool, but I would've westerned it up with a piece of vintage leather or cowhide.

One of my favorite finds years ago during my shabby chic phase was a white painted-chipped iron chair with a needlepoint seat. It was so vintage, I loved it!

  25. Gheesh thanks for the great idea. Hubby recently dumpster dived and retrieved a stool. I don't have
to make a cover for it, just cover it. he he he.
