Quilt-i-ness

Lately I'm addicted to sewing. I want to do it all day, every day. I think about it as I'm falling asleep and dream about it at night. If I'm at the pool with the girls then I'm thinking about what to do next and scheming how I can create time to do it.

Must have something to do with all the great fabrics I've recently purchased from Karen and her lovely etsy shop.

  6. I'm in the middle of a sewing binge myself right now. I'm obsessed. Obsessed, I tell you! I've made a quilt, pillowcases, eyeglass cases, and headbands! Still more to come! Enjoy it while it lasts, because inevitably it will wind down at some point.

  12. I hear you! The quilting/darning foot and feed cover plate I ordered for my trusty featherweight 221 machine arrived yesterday and I am dying to try some machine quilting with it ~ but "Alas, I haven't a quilt top complete!" (Eyes looking up toward her right hand which rests palm up on her forehead, seeing the cobwebs she missed in last year's cleaning ......) :-D TGIF!

  13. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project. :) The combination you've shown looks just gorgeous!

I know the feeling - I dream about sewing all the time. I think I have four designs in my head right now!

I'm having a Use What You Have Challenge - no new fabric for me. Luckily I have an embarassingly *huge* fabric stash.

    *ahem*

  16. I love to sew. I have had to put my sewing projects on hold because Little Miss sewing machine decided she had enough! So until I fix her, or trade her in for a new model (sorry ol' girl) I will have to be content creating with paper and paints for a while. Please stitch a row for me. Have a blast while you are sewing and can't wait to see all that you are making.

  17. Okay the precision alone just made me pass out! Lovely work, Dana. Also, thanks to you my girls have been slaving over the sewing machine, making all manner of sleep gear for their LP pets. It's been fun!

  19. Can you please toss some of that sewing mojo my way? I'm working on a quiet book for my toddler and I need the motivation to finish it!

I love the colors of the fabrics you found!

  20. OK, my sad story about quilting. I have never made a quilt but have some ability in front of a sewing machine. So when my beloved mother-in-law died I took all her blouses I loved so much (and my sister-in-law took other blouses and dresses to make a quilt, also, but she has experience making quilts). So when I had picked all the shiney, colorful prints I loved, you know, the ones that have no cotton in them, the stretchy material. My sister-in-law picked the dull, cotton prints, without saying a word to me until we had finished and then she informed me that you can't make quilts from that type of material because it stretches. cheeze. I'm stubborn and I love these prints so I am calling out for help as to how to I make a quilt with this material. Or, maybe, just a collage of some sorts to remind me of my mother-in-law.

  23. I'm with you - I was at the movies today (w/o kids!) distracted by thoughts of how to manage my time better so I have optimal time to create and do all the "chores". But then there was a close-up of Christian Bale and my mind went blank as a silly teenagerish crushy grin swept over my face.....

I love this quilt already. Half of my fabric came yesterday - I'm excited to get started!

PS - I love that you have the Shins on your playlist.
