ReplyDeleteI don't sew, I wish I could but it's not my calling. Yet I still have this strange love of fabric. I have a stash of fat quarters tucked away under my work bench. I just love to look at them. Something about the collage of bright and happy colors brings a little joy to my soul. Maybe someday I'll make a quilt.

Let me wish you a Happy Birthday - you share your birthday with my gorgeous seven year old son - but I am a little biased ! I love all fabric and I am always tempted to buy fabric - my favourite fabrics are ANY fabrics I can quilt, patchwork, make into bags or wear !

Right now I am coveting the Fairy Princess line here at work (I work at Clothworks Textiles). Everytime I walk thru the warehouse I look longingly at it. My problem is I don't think I can buy ALL of them and how do I chose?

ReplyDeleteas for the fabric, OH MY. i probably won't TRY to justify anything as i have projects lined up like hungry beggars, but i have this incredible fascination with heather ross's mendocino line. great colors and all those mermaids and seaweedy sorts of stripes. they'd make a great quilt for all those quiet evenings that i spend at the beach here... HAHAHA! you know, in the frozen northeastern TUNDRA. it is, btw, currently 10 degrees.

ReplyDeleteI've gotten hung up on Jane Sassaman's Prairie Gothic line. I don't have the skills yet to do it justice, but it got right under my skin. Santa didn't bring me any yardage so I'm trying to think of another way to get my hands on some of that lovely stuff!

I vowed no more fabric until I used what I have but Michael Miller had to come out with flower fairy fabric. Thing 2's FAVORITE books, and the Apple Blossom Fairy is her twin, the baby her cousin.

I just got a dog and I'm fighting the instinct to buy "Oh My Dog" by Moda.

I have to say that I'm all tangled up for the sugarsnap line of fabric.
Our shop in town is even having a 50% off sale on all her fabric and I know she's got some but I'm not able to quilt (I want to but need to take a course) so maybe an apron? My hubby won't let me buy more fabric without a vision... and I have about 22 other visions in various states of completeness, hence his reluctance...I'm just addicted to fabric--what else can I say?!

ReplyDeleteI love fabric and have really started to get into it in the last six months. I really want to buy the Daisy Chain line by Amy Butler. I should use it to make a quilt for my bed, but I am busy making other gifts for people. I would love to buy it..but justify it...maybe I can with this book.
I'm trying to justify buying more Japanese fabric, seeing as I just bought 4 yards. But I don't have any projects in mind, so I don't think I should!

ReplyDeleteI made a quilt with a jelly roll from Portobello market from Moda. I finished the blocks but keep thinking I should get a bigger piece of the very big flowery fabric in that line... I don't need it for the blocks anymore, am on a tight budget but I just can't forget about it. Recognize the feeling ;-)?
