Ya say it's your birthday . . .

Well it's my birthday too! So I'm giving away one of my most favoritest books. I love it for the illustrations.

Dude! Check it!

It's a book for fabric lovers. It could be YOUR book. Leave a comment telling me what fabric you are trying to justify buying and you'll be entered for a chance to win. I'll pick a winner Saturday, January 17.

Good luck!

  2. Happy Birthday!
I want ANY Anna Maria Horner fabric.
My problem is not the buying, but the choosing which to buy and what to do with it.
This looks like a really groovy book.

  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I'm always trying to justify lots of fabric! This month I've been avoiding my favorite spots to shop - I just can't be tempted :)

  4. Dude Happy Birthday! ;o)

I don't sew, I wish I could but it's not my calling. Yet I still have this strange love of fabric. I have a stash of fat quarters tucked away under my work bench. I just love to look at them. Something about the collage of bright and happy colors brings a little joy to my soul. Maybe someday I'll make a quilt.

  14. Let me wish you a Happy Birthday - you share your birthday with my gorgeous seven year old son - but I am a little biased ! I love all fabric and I am always tempted to buy fabric - my favourite fabrics are ANY fabrics I can quilt, patchwork, make into bags or wear !
    Please choose me !!!

Love - Vanessa - hope you have a lovely day !

  15. Ooooh Dana! Happy Birthday!

I've NEVER seen this book, it's beautiful!!!!

Right now I am coveting the Fairy Princess line here at work (I work at Clothworks Textiles). Everytime I walk thru the warehouse I look longingly at it. My problem is I don't think I can buy ALL of them and how do I chose?

  17. oh DANA!!!! many happy returns of the day!!!!! and aren't you the super-coolest for giving someone ELSE a present??? the book looks incredible, so of course i'm in for a chance to win...

as for the fabric, OH MY. i probably won't TRY to justify anything as i have projects lined up like hungry beggars, but i have this incredible fascination with heather ross's mendocino line. great colors and all those mermaids and seaweedy sorts of stripes. they'd make a great quilt for all those quiet evenings that i spend at the beach here... HAHAHA! you know, in the frozen northeastern TUNDRA. it is, btw, currently 10 degrees.

  24. Happy Birthday!

I've gotten hung up on Jane Sassaman's Prairie Gothic line. I don't have the skills yet to do it justice, but it got right under my skin. Santa didn't bring me any yardage so I'm trying to think of another way to get my hands on some of that lovely stuff!

  25. Happy Birthday to you.....
I'll stop singing now. Hope your eardrums aren't bleeding.
I vowed no more fabric until I used what I have but Michael Miller had to come out with flower fairy fabric. Thing 2's FAVORITE books, and the Apple Blossom Fairy is her twin, the baby her cousin.
Do you get to buy yourself awesome fabric for your birthday?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Happy Birthday! I am trying to keep myself from buying more Portabella Market fabric by Moda. I have enough for the quilt for my bed already. But I like that one...and that one...and that one... well, you get the idea!

  27. Happy Birthday! (How many years young?)
Right now, ANY fabric is an "extra" in my house... we're just getting into the groove since Christmas and, even though we didn't go over the top with spending, every little bit seems to have added up!
    Have a very great Birthday!

  34. what a wonderful way to celebrate your own birthday and how sweet of you to think of me personally.
i fall in love with fabric i must have almost everyday, but because i am cheap and because i have huge closet full of 100's of yards of fabric, i can't possibly justify the purchase.
I WANT IT ALL and i totally have plans for all of it.

  35. Happy birthday!
    The book is gorgeous :)

....I am arguing the need to buy some orange robot fabric to use as part of the backing for Asks quilt....and some "feathered friends" just because it is so pretty...

  38. Happy Birthday! How can one whittle it down to one fabric you are trying to justify buying BUT I tried to justify buying 1974 because I was BORN in 1974...seemed like a good argument to me!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Happy Birthday, how fun! Those pictures look amazing!
Ummm... I have to justify buying any fabric anymore because I have tons.
I really want some Tina Givens Fairy Tiptoes, or maybe some more Anna Maria Garden Party, or Amy Butler, or some awesome vintage fabric, can you tell I have a problem?

    Happy birthday to you.
Yes we're going to a party party"

It's not really my birthday, but always think of Anthony Michael Hall sings that song in "Sixteen Candles".

I just got a dog and I'm fighting the instinct to buy "Oh My Dog" by Moda.

  43. To be honest, I'm not eyeing any fabric. (sorry) I collect childrens' books instead. Just wanted to stop in to wish you a Happy Happy Birthday!

  45. Well, Happy Happy Birthday to YOU!

I have a birthday coming soon too and this book would be a lovely "gift"! LOL!

I have to say that I'm all tangled up for the sugarsnap line of fabric.
Our shop in town is even having a 50% off sale on all her fabric and I know she's got some but I'm not able to quilt (I want to but need to take a course) so maybe an apron? My hubby won't let me buy more fabric without a vision... and I have about 22 other visions in various states of completeness, hence his reluctance...I'm just addicted to fabric--what else can I say?!

lol My obsession with fabric NEVER stops. Seriously, I'm in love with the Lizzy House line... the new robots print (I forget who the designer is) and I ALWAYS make excuses for Amy Butler and Heather Bailey... they make the most beautiful quilts! :D

  77. First happy birthday!
I made a quilt with a jelly roll from Portobello market from Moda. I finished the blocks but keep thinking I should get a bigger piece of the very big flowery fabric in that line... I don't need it for the blocks anymore, am on a tight budget but I just can't forget about it. Recognize the feeling ;-)?
