Artisans
A simple patchwork of collected vintage chenille.
And, dude, the most amazing bread ever. I made it. Yes me. So good and so easy that I made three loaves this weekend. It is the master recipe from the book Artisan Bread Making in Five Minutes a Day.
I'm gonna have to buy flour in bulk. Seriously.
The girls were baking too. Only, outside on the concrete pavers.
And, I . . . well, let's see . . . I was laying on the grass feeling the cool breeze on my face . . . SCREECH! HALT! WHAT??!!**??
Er. Um. I mean I went to see what Razor was up to. Building a few raised beds for a fresh planting of strawberries, onions, and carrots. I love strawberries, onions and carrots. Not together of course.
I love Razor too.
Now where was I? Oh yes . . .
. . . dreaming of crystal blue waters, white sandy beaches, fruity, frosty sensations with an umbrella . . .
A good weekend indeed.

we are going to try some raised beds this year and i am putting small gage (holes) wire around it cause we have a semi resident rabbit who ate every speck of my beans last year...not so this year my dear little bun bun.

Maybe if my beds had been built with more love, my seeds would have sprouted. Alas, it is not to be and tomato plants from the nursery are the lone crop this year. I suppose I'll have to turn to your bread book to make something fabulous to eat those tomatoes with!

ReplyDeleteWe use this recipe too. We got it from Mother Earth News Magazine. It is wonderful and so easy. We scrape down the sides and remake the dough so it is now like a sourdough. Wonderful! I feel a twinge of jealousy of your beautiful springiness. We still have 2 feet of snow on the ground and are moving into Maine's 5th season, MUD! All my seeds are sitting waiting for the snow to be gone.

ReplyDeleteWhen I first got this book I baked bread every night for dinner the first few weeks, then my jeans started getting harder to button and we stopped eating warm bread every night!
ReplyDeleteBut it's fun to do in moderation! And they look so yummy!
I'm seeing photos of bread from that book all over blogland. Think I'm going to have to break down and buy it myself, even though the extent of my breadmaking has been the bread machine so far.

ReplyDeleteI made the cinnamon rolls, they were fun to make and yummy, too, but I think that bread would be more popular with my paneros ('pan' is 'bread' in Spanish --- 'panero' is someone who eats bread). That bread should go great with your 'soperos' = 'sopa' is 'soup' in Spanish, thus, someone who eats soup is a sopero, and it usually implies they LOVE soup.
