Since May she has had large cardboard pieces in her room that she insisted on keeping. "Why?" I would ask. "Because I'm going to make wings." She would say.
Wings indeed. Just before school began again.
Like a true inventor if at first it didn't work, she would try something new. And talk one of us into helping her.
I knew what her next plan was just by the look on her face.
And she really thought this would be the winning ticket. The helmet is a dead giveaway.
I love the way her mind works. I love these wings. I love the look of joy on her face as she tries every means she can think of to fly.
Not so crazy about the fact that she used my sewing scissors to cut the cardboard. . .

ReplyDeleteOh no! Not the sewing scissors!! God bless your heart for taking it in stride! Mom kept spare pairs of large Fiskars in every. single. room. of the house growing up for that very reason. She knew if we couldn't put our hands on a pair of scissors in approximately 0.284846 seconds, we would head to her sewing room and grab the first pair we saw.

ReplyDeleteBwhahahhaaaaa....Awesome...I hate to tell her she needs bigger cardboard. I know where she can get an endless supply...says the wife of the man who puts in new kitchens...that have cabinets and appliances....that come in cardboard boxes!!:)

ReplyDeleteOh Dana! What fun! She is having a ball, it shows in that big grin! It shows just how happy one little girl can be! (I'm sure the scissors will cope with just the one use!) (hoepfully hehe)
ReplyDeleteI love her spirit of adventure! ...One of my sons was always creating costume parts from paper that he would tape to his clothes, arms, face, etc. .... So he often got rolls of tape and packs of construction paper for his birthday! (Oh, and his own scissors too!) :D

NOT THE SCISSORS!!!!! they need to disguise those things as broccoli or a toilet wand or something so they stop trying to use them to cut whatever craziness they are cutting that is never fabric.
