Our next day in New York City included a view of the Statute of Liberty from Liberty Park, Chinatown, South Sea Port, Financial District, Little Italy and the Empire State Building. 

We were going from 8am until 10pm and it was completely worth my aching feet and ankles.

And, if you want to get a sense of the sound of NYC go back to the top of these photos and scroll through slowly.  But before you do, find three people to bang pots and pans together, run your dishwasher, turn your television up to a higher than normal volume, make sure your telephone is ringing and try to have a conversation over the noise. 

Then, and only then, will these photos really come to life.

    Mmm dragonfruit! I haven't been back to NYC in a couple months and I'm definitely due for another weekend trip! The thing about the noise made me laugh because being a city girl, I don't 'hear' it, but my husband can't function in NYC. I can't talk to him unless I make sure I get his full attention and he's making eye contact with me lol!

    You certainly are making the most of your time! Goodness you are going to need a vacation from your vacation to get back to living in the quiet country. There is so much to see and do in NYC! How long did you wait to go up to the top of the empire state building?

    It's an amazing place, isn't it!! Our daughter and her husband are living in Manhattan while he's in grad school at Columbia and we've visited them twice- not nearly enough time to take in all of the wonderful variety of experiences NYC has to offer! (The MOMA is my favorite, but I LOVED the Red and White quilt show that was at the Armory. It was the most incredible q-show I've ever seen!)

    Dana, I love your pictures from your trip. You really have a great eye and took some awesome photos. It's hard for me to pick one because I think they are all great.
    Enjoyed seeing the ones from today's post and the mother's day one too. Glad you had such great trips. I know what you mean about coming home- it's nice to go somewhere, see some things, but surely nice once you get back home.
