Keeping it real

Ah.  Behold the power of a blog to show the beauty and perfectness of life.

Cause a giant bowl of just picked blueberries about to be made into a pie is beautiful.  And perfect.

But nothing is perfect.

Especially me.

I did find this cute thing at a thrift store today.

And got this back from the long arm quilter.

So I'm choosing to focus on the beauty.

Cause the pie will be perfect whether I made the crust myself or not.

  1. Do not apologize for that crust! I use it and most people do not the diff. I've even had it complemented by a pastry chef, so there ya go...I do make my own crust when I have time but, hey, if I don't and they want pie, well...

  3. I use pillsbury too!! It makes a quick pie so much easier. And it tastes so good! Yay, for imperfectness.

Those blueberries do look perfect. :)so does the turquoise bowl they are in.

  4. Even though I am not the biggest fan of blueberries, they do look pretty in your cute bowl.
I never make my own pie crust, I can and have before, I just choose not to :)
I can't wait to see your quilt, I am thinking that I may make a dresden plate quilt out of my hope valley.
Speaking of quilts, I just talked to Rhonda today on the phone about mine that I sent, she had the cutest accent, I couldn't help but think that is probably how Dana sounds too. I wonder if you will think that I have a Utah accent :)

  6. nothing like homemade pie even if you don't make your own crust. I don't and it is okay. Love your dresdens. I am working on the binding of a dresden quilt at this time.

  8. That looks delish.

I miss Pillsbury Pie Crusts. We live gluten-free and that is not on the list of safe foods.

  10. Pie made from just picked blueberries is ALL about the fruit--If I made pies I'd use ready-made crust too :)

    Gorgeous quilting!

  11. Boy, I wouldn't get as far as making a pie. I would eat that bowl of blueberries, as is! (Not that I don't like pie, but, I really LOVE fresh blueberries... I swear I could eat my bodyweight in fresh blueberries... and I ain't no featherweight...LOL)

    Happy pie making, Dana!

  12. WOW you did a "B" post too and didn't even know it.

  13. b : satisfying all requirements : accurate
b : lacking in no essential detail : complete

These are two definitions of perfect that I prefer to the flawless definition....

So by those definitions, you seem pretty perfect to me!
