Today I'm . . .
::excited:: to see the first snow of the season . . . in November no less.
::hopeful:: that it means we will have a snowy winter.
::smiling inside:: every time I see this blooming Christmas cactus plant.
::smiling a little less:: when I think about pulling all the Christmas decorations out of the attic.
::bundling up:: cause I'm going to work on the school Christmas parade float.
::smiling even more than before:: cause I've used the word Christmas four times now.
::tickled:: over these winnings from WoollyPetals!
::finger wrestling:: the girls to get to keep the owl and zippered pouch for my own.
::annoyed:: that my dogs chew up dog toys deemed to be "indestructible."
::incredulous:: more people haven't left a comment trying to win this quilt over on Art Nest.
::grateful:: that Mom sent me home with turkey and ham so that I can make sandwiches tonight after working on the parade float all day.

Love that little owl and the Christmas cactus is so cheerful. Hooray for snow and Christmastime!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you when I saw the weather map last night...we woke up to glorious sunshine and clouds above going northwest and clouds below that going northeast...30 minutes later we were socked in with clouds and a downpour...which it's still doing!:P
ReplyDeleteMy boy has given me two xmas cactus...one that color and one white...both are blooming...I think of him when I see them...now I will also think of you!:)

Your Christmas cactus is so pretty. Mine hasn't bloomed in a couple of years. It's ancient, it was my husband's grandmother's. Not that she was ancient.
ReplyDeleteI love your winnings. Good luck keeping them.
Thanks for the heads up about the quilt giveaway. It is awesome!
Lovelovelove Christmas Cactus -any color - mine is blooming (old family one) and the other 15 odd ones in the house are budding!!! Can't wait!
ReplyDeletemy step dad had a christmas cactus that i loved so much. he passed away a few years ago and it makes me so happy to see christmas cactus's now because it makes me think of him. thank you for putting a smile on my face this morning dana!
ReplyDeleteYou are so goopy! Love your cactus, mine is fuschia colored and blooms at Easter and Thanksgiving! IS there an indestructible dog toy? Our dog is a challenge in that respect too; we've gotten good mileage out of a (real) football, but most dog toys are good for 48 hours or less.
ReplyDeleteI love when you do this...
ReplyDeleteYou are such a sweetie! Can't believe you've seen snow already...it'll be three more months before we see any (and then it's usually just ice)! Thanks for the shout-out :) ~ Susannah
ReplyDeleteWe are suppose to get snow this week too. First winter in NM- it's an adventure. Enjoy this awesome time of year and save some time for the fun stuff- our girls are growing so fast.
ReplyDeleteHope you stay warm while working on that float!
ReplyDeleteI love your little owl. I'll need to make up one for my mom.
ReplyDeleteI also become frustrated with dog toys. My husband's jack russell can rip just about anything open in 5 minutes top, you have to inspect rope bones b/c he can shred most quite quickly (we need a really tight weave), and I have to buy real tennis balls since those made for pets are ripped open in a minute.
