Patchwork

Seems I've made nothing but patchwork quilts this summer.  Probably because they, at my very core, are my favorite.  They were when I was 18 years old and they still are over 20 years later.  I just can't help it.  Sometimes I wonder if it has to do with the patchwork design wallpaper my mother hung in my room when I was a little girl.

I love the randomness of them.  I love the utilitarianism of them.  I love the scrappy nature of them.

Patchwork quilts forever!

  4. I have to agree! I always find myself drawn to the patchwork quilts first. It's sad that I haven't made one for myself. Must remedy that! The combination of colors in yours is fabulous.

  13. Beautiful quilt! It speaks to me too, probably because I really love patchwork squares too. I love the simplicity over fussing piecing. And I love the boldness you can achieve with larger squares and brighter prints.

  18. I love quilts too. Out of all the crafty things I do, quilting is my favorite. Nothing speaks quite like a quilt does and a home can never have too many in my book. Your latest quilt is beautiful Dana.
