They each gain more confidence in the kitchen everyday. Lo mein or chicken pot pie. It doesn't really matter what we/they are making. It just matters that we are making it together.
Love this! One of the best pieces of advice I received in regard to picky eaters was to have my daughter help me in the kitchen. We started this as soon as she could steadily stand on a chair and help me stir. Now she's 3.5 and loves helping me in the kitchen...and eating her creations. So sweet to see your girls sharing that time with you.
I'm putting Ste in charge of one evening meal per week now that marching band is over. He's been cooking with me since he was a little, and at 17, I know he can manage a meal on his own. Of course, hubs and I will be available to answer questions and help out when needed! ;) (and momma gets some relaxation time after work at least one day a week!!)
Yum! I'm looking forward to the day when the kids will enjoy helping make things other than cookies, and eggs, and can eat a more non-kid friendly meal. We do expose them to different meal options, but they waist a lot of food at this point.
I was never allowed in the kitchen as a child but my kids were always welcome to cook with me, now both of them are great cooks...my son loves it and says it is his "performance art". Yummy stuff happening at your house!
Absolutely! I love that my girls can get in the kitchen and enjoy being in there making things also. It's beyond awesome. : )
