I grow zinnias every summer. I love that they grow like crazy without any special attention. They flower all summer and keep in a vase for weeks. I'm especially obsessed with how as the blossom ages, the color fades in the most beautiful ombre fashion. I tend to take a billion photos of my zinnias each year, as evidenced by the screen shot of my camera roll above. This year I decided to extend my obsession to fabric and thread. A zinnia quilt!

DeleteI too love zinnias and have lots in my garden... and now I'm in love with that zinnia block. I know I purchased it...must track it down...thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun block to make! I hope you find it!
DeleteBeautiful! All of them...real and fabric! My fave flower is the sunflower.
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are one of my favorites too!
DeleteI love your quilt! It's so beautiful!!! I share your zinnia obsession too! 💕💕
ReplyDeleteZinnias are easy to love!
DeleteI've never grown zinnias - are they an annual or perennial? Love the pictures of yours and the quilt!
ReplyDeleteThey are an annual but you can easily save seed from year to year and they grow quickly from seed right in the ground!
DeleteIt's pretty fantastic
ReplyDeleteIm in love with your quilt! My daughters and I were gifted some beautiful zinnias this summer and we looked up how to save the seeds so we now have plenty for a beautiful zinnia garden next year. When do you usually plant your seeds? I also am going to have to make us a zinnia quilt as well. Inspired!
ReplyDeleteHi Staci-- I tried to email you directly but your a "no reply blogger" so I couldn't. :) You can work the seeds into the soil about after the threat of frost is passed. You'll have to see what Zone you live in and determine your last frost date and go from there. I'm glad you love zinnias as much as I do!
Deleteyour fabric choices make a lovely garden!!
