I started this quilt last June. I made all the blocks and even assembled the quilt top but it wasn't until December that I finally basted it up and got 'er done! One thing that this quilt taught me . . . well, just reinforced yet again . . . is that I love scrappy quilts. I love a billion different fabrics and colors together in one quilt. I love making the riot of color come together. This quilt has me fired up and committed to making ALL THE SCRAPPY QUILTS! All scrappy, all the time! (all caps, jazz hands and bug eyes too!!)

So pretty, Dana! I’m a scrappy-is-best quilter too. Loopy quilting looks great. :)
ReplyDeleteScrappy forever, I say! :)
DeleteScrappy is best. I believe it was Bonnie Hunter that said once you go scrappy you never go back. All love to scrappy quilts.
ReplyDeleteBonnie Hunter makes gorgeous scrappy quilts. I recently bought one of her books and plan to make at least 5 from it!
DeleteIt is gorgeous!! So much movement and excitement.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am really pleased with the colors and movement as well!
DeleteThe colour and movement is just absolute perfection and demonstrates everything that is wonderful about scrappy quilts!
ReplyDeleteI agree. ..thanks for saying so!
DeleteI am with you, girl! I love this quilt! I plan to do a cross plus someday (hopefully before the year is out). First, though, I have a few commitments for special quilts (for family) and I am doing the village quilt right now. And, I am going to start a scrappy crossroads block quilt within the next few days. Yup. Scrappy is happening!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with scrappy crossroads but totally need to look it up! Scrappy for president!
DeleteLove it! Don't know that I could go that scrappy with a quilt, though. I am a more "controlled" scrappy person.

Nothing wrong with controlled scrappy! :)
DeleteDana, its luscious!! Xoxo Elaine Christian
ReplyDeleteEvery scrap brings something to the party. This beauty is an excellent example of that. You've made me rethink my failure to get started on an X Plus quilt.
ReplyDeleteLove this so much! A real mood lifter with all the colours exploding together! 💕
