Through the windshield

We went away this past weekend.  Packed it up.  Stuffed it in.  Boarded the dogs and drove deep into the mountains.  The past few weeks have brought difficult things my way.  One-right-after-another-with-out-so-much-as-a-chance-to-catch-my-breath-in-between.  And waiting to climb into the car to carry me away from it all was like being six years old and waiting for Christmas morning.  Gah.

Sometimes people disappoint.  Disappoint is one thing.  Epic failure is another.  That door had been closing for more than thirty years and the final sting was no more than a dull pinch.  But lump all the other garbage on top of it and I'm just pretty worn down.  And teary.

So.

The trip was good.  I'll share pictures and tales another day.

I have three quilts quilted and ready to be bound.  It's all good.

Sometimes a new view is just the right ticket; you never know what good things will be right around the corner!

hope your time away was the therapy you needed--for me I need retail therapy of the fabric kind--if you're not all the way cured, fabric.com is having a sale ;)

Ok, you need some ((((hugs))))! Take care of yourself, Dana. (your short escape is evidence that you are...Good!) I like doing quilt binding. For me, it's repetitive and calming, meditative. And at the end, the quilt is FINISHED! Then you can wrap up in it and give yourself a cuddle.

I'm sorry your going through difficult things, life is hard sometimes. If I could I would give you a hug. Or I could owe you a hug in a few weeks! I hope your trip helped.
I can't wait to see your quilts, speaking of quilts, I talked to Rhonda today, she said my quilt should be coming any day now, eek!

I hope you have a better week this week.

here's hoping that your weekend away was rejuvinating and refreshing and gave you time to breath deeply. The mountains are a great place to do that!Take another one soon if you feel the need and I'm praying that life will settle down a bit and bring you some peace.

Sounds like a good cry would be a welcome release......I think that is why women live longer than men...we can cry and let it go and talk to our girlfriends about problems, hurts and disappointments. Sounds like you have a big hurt pressing down on you.....I hope you feel better soon Dana and can find a place to leave your pain.

Big Hugs
