Please leave a message after the beep

You've reached the Old Red Barn Co. blog.  Seems as though Dana, the sole contributor to this space, is suffering a bit of writer's block. Over the last weeks she has implemented tactics (i.e. "This Week" seen here, here and here)  to force her to sit down and blog but said tactics aren't really her style and made her a bit lazy -- lumping all things into one catch all post instead of more thoughtful, meaningful posts.  Anywho . . .  if you're here today it might be of interest to you that this is post 999 and Dana has a small quilting tutorial (Double Irish Chain from fat quarters!) and a giveaway (free long arm quilting!) planned for post 1,000.  Please be sure to stop back by for that and kindly leave a message after the beep.

There is something in the air making us lose our blogging mojo. I blame Instagram.
You look gorgeous in the photo.

Cute! I hardly blog anymore. Not sure why. Every time I try to write I "freeze". Can't wait for your tutorial!

I really enjoy your posts. I love that you can capture everything you need in a photo and attach a short quip about it. The simplicity you have amazes me. I find myself using more words to my posts when I should probably cut back. But I blog to catalog things that I like, and Facebook just doesn't allow me to be as in depth as I would like, and a simple photo just doesn't explain everything that I would like to remember for the future. I blog so I can have a diary of what I am doing, what my kids are up to and how they are growing and changing, and their silly antics, and none of it is really thoughtful or meaningful except to me. Also, I like the This Week posts. There are some things that I do/make and there really isn't enough to do a whole post about, but it gives me a place to put it so I can remember the time frame in which it occurred.
Super cute photo, and looking forward to post 1,000!
Did the machine cut me off from using too many words? :)

When you get to the point of needing a comma to count your blog posts I'd say you're entitled to a little writers block. lovely photo, who needs words.

So, now you know why I don't have a blog! Nothing much to talk about here! I do enjoy your posts, too.

Wonderful picture. Thanks for sharing!

Let's blame it on the government shutdown! Maybe if they get up and running, you can too. I still love to see anything you post, even if it's mostly pictures.

I feel you. Even after I said I was making time for me, I can't find time and the will to blog like I want to and I don't want to do it halfway. Beautiful photo by the way!
