Heard around these parts

Razor's has had some doozies in the last 24 hours. Are you ready?

#1 He has been watching football nonstop for what feels like days. College bowl games. NFL. I even saw him watching some high school East/West game. Yesterday I asked him, "Aren't you sick of football?" His reply was, "Surprisingly no. I feel impaled to watch it!"

::Blink:: ::Blink:: I'm pretty sure he meant COMPELLED.

#2 This morning as we talked about our plan for the day Boo asked if she could ride her scooter in the barn. Razor replied that she could ride he scooter until her heart was dissent.

::Ahhhhhhhh:: ::Deep cleansing breathe:: Surely he meant CONTENT.

Thanks for such a great laugh!! What a perfect start to my day. I used to work with a gentleman who did the same thing and it was always FUN! Lucky you.

My husband does it all the time, sometimes I correct him, sometimes I just let it slide, the really bad ones are the ones I usually call him on. I'm such a brat too, sometimes I like to throw words out there that I know he has never heard before, and then I'll jokingly say, you need time to go look that up? LOL

Hmmm . . . I can even see the expression on his face as he says it. Only Razor

Sounds like someone is a little preoccupied!

My hubby found highschool football with two of our local schools on the tv last night...

i am thankful mark only watches pro games but it is playoff weekend and next weekend too i believe. i do nt keep track. he sounds like he NEEDS to surface and relate to the living...i did loved that he felt "impaled" to watch...he probably felt he was impaled on the sofa or whereever he was watching the games after all that time :-)

I'm holding my sides laughing. I agree with Beth. I quite often correct my DH and sometimes for a laugh I even add madeup words to a conversation to see if he notices. When he asks what it means I even make up a meaning to see if he believes me or not. Usually I can pull it off and he goes off with a bewildered look on his face not quite sure. I always have to tell the truth though and we end up having a laugh. It has become a bit of a game. I'm sure someone is thinking I'm mean. D. :=)

Okay. That's all the proof I needed. TV football saps the smarts out of even the most intelligent of men. My husband had too much TV football this weekend too. I don't feel so alone now. My heart is now dissent too.

Maybe he meant something impaled him and he's stuck to the couch, therefore he must watch? Oh, maybe that's a stretch...

I hate to admit this...it isn't my husband who does this in my house. It's ME!!!!

How funny! My husband is from another country and English is like, his 4th language...Sometimes he gets his V's and W's mixed up...and he told my son to go MOVE the lawn (instead of MOW the lawn) and my son said "where do you want me to move it to?"
We still laugh about that....

I am with Leslie on this. It's all ways me that is messing up and my BH that is correcting me. Just once I want it to be him, but I don't think it will ever happen.

LOL I love it. It would be me that gets caught trying to use big words. I just want to sound more intelligent once in awhile.

With all the gloomy weather we've been having I must say your post has given me a lift and some sunshine where there was none.

This made me laugh, my darling related a story of a recent doctors visit to my mother, saying "She started cutting before the amnesia set in!"
