We have declared today, 09/09/09, Razor Day. Well, I've decided that. The girls played no real part in that proclamation. But after a little coaxing they have decided to play along. I suspect a flurry of art related festivities once they get home from school to commemorate good ole dad.
So, I thought I would tell you some of the reasons I love Razor. My husband. The father of my children. My sweetie. My smoochies.
I could tell you that I love him because he gets up every morning and makes breakfast for the girls. He also packs their lunch.
And I could tell you that I love him because he does all the grocery shopping. And the dishes almost every night. And that he takes the trash out. And supports my quilting obsession.
I could tell you that I love him because he takes us on fun outdoor adventures. And coaches the girls on their newly learned mountain biking skills. While checking up on me as I bring up the rear. On foot by the way. And making sure that the puppies haven't run off.
I could tell you many, many, many reasons why I love my husband.
But, really, one of the biggies and most important reasons that I love him is because he carries all my camera lenses on hikes. Without complaining. In my polka dotted feather boa lined bag.
He's a keeper.

Gotta love 'em! Happy birthday to him! Enjoy your day, Dana!

LOL Love your bag! Happy Razor day :)
Oh my gosh, I'm laughing so hard right now. But you're right, he's definitely a keeper.
Love ya Razor!
aaaww, what an awesome Schmoopie!
aaaww, what an awesome Schmoopie!
Very cool.
yep, I concur. He's a keeper.
for the record, I thought that polka dot bag was quite becoming.
It takes a real man to carry his wife's bag :)
Ha, I love that in a man! He is a keeper for sure.
how nice :)
That last picture is the same look I get from my honey sometimes. I call it, "Your crazy, but I love you so I will do it" look :)
I didn't even notice your hubby was carrying the fur lined bag in the first picture. I had to scroll back up to see what you were talking about. Happy Birthday!
Definitely a keeper!
He does the dishes and the early morning duty!! He is a keeper for sure!
Cheers to Razor!
it takes a real man to pull of a boa lined polka dot bag! so cute!! i definitely recognize that look in the last picture.
What a great post dedicated to your hubby. He does sound like a keeper. Does he have a brother??? hehe
definately a keeper :) It takes a real man to carry a polkadotted feather boa lined bag!
yeah......he sounds like a keeper to me too. aint it great to have a real partner?!! i have a friend and i could kick her in the head. she waits on her man hand and foot, literally, it is sick. we had them over for a barbeque and she asked if i was going to make mark a plate. i looked at mark, smiled and said, what, does he have a broken arm. boy...did her man give me a dirty look. i love to do things for mark but i also love that he does so much for me too and he really supports my arts. i am going to madison quilt expo tomarrow and wont be back until sunday. first time we will be apart since we moved to da UP.. he says he is really going to miss me but he wants me to have a really good time. he even gave me a hundrd bucks to spend if i see something that i just gotta have. now he's a keeper :-)
What a keeper!
you had me at "supports my quilting obsession" lol Sounds like a fantastic catch!! While my hubby isn't enthusiastic about quilting, he doesn't ever complain about it, and he does help out quite a bit at the house too. :)
Oh yeah, he's a keeper. Does the dishes and carries the polka dot boa bag...not to mention he is a cutie patootie pie! You are a lucky girl!
That is definately a keeper. Good going! I got a good one two, thank God for awesome hubbies!!!
I had a non-keeper first hubby, but have been happily with a Keeper for 25 years. He's always willing to do whatever needs to be done, without waiting for someone else to do it. He's mushy inside and loves his kids to death--worries about them a lot. Keepers are rare and they need to be bragged about. Glad you have one:)
Yup! You gotta keeper there! Mine so lovingly carries my stuff when I'm shooting too. Here is proof. I don't even remember taking the shot, but I'm glad I did. I need to print it and then post it up so I can remember why I love him. He has my camera bag in his other hand, btw.

The last pic says it all. HAahaa! Love it, any husband who does that is a total keeper.
You are blessed indeed.
Found your blog via a chain of about fourteen different sewing-related blogs. Your husband sounds a lot like mine (right down to carrying the camera gear) which is to say: absolutely wonderful. What a sweet idea to give him a special day beyond father's day.
That is a sweet post!! I think every wife should feel that way about her love!! (I know that I do)!! Very sweet!! And yes I do believe he is a keeper!!!
You totally made me laugh! I was wondering whose polka dotted bag he was carrying! He IS a keeper - grocery shopping and all!!
Alrighty, that's it! I'm coming to meet you, the girls, and this spectacular man! Details, tomorrow. You can always politely decline.
sounds to me like you trained him well. Keep him.
LOL
LOL. Love the post. He's definitely a keeper. What a great guy.
Sweet! That last picture says it all - I'll carry the polka dotta boa bag but don't tell anyone...tell EVERYONE:)
And he's really cute!
Sounds like a happy man that loves all his girls.
Count your blessings everyday!
Happy Sewing
I have a sweetie like that, too. How lucky we are to have them!
Great tribute.
Your husband is one out of a million (maybe more!!) You and your family are so very lucky. I love your pups!! I have a miniature daschund (called Titus) who is a short hair. We also have a blue heeler named Jasmine. I walk them at the local park (it's kind of in the country) during the week--poor Titus has to run practically the entire time to keep up. Those little legs are just a goin' and the ears are flapping. Hope you post pictures ofter as yours grow up!!!!
That's funny! I had to scroll back up to the top pic to see the bag!
My Husband loves to carry my "bag". It consists of a small flat leather wallet that just has 3 pockets for credit cards and folded cash. I'm not a bag person and I struggle with a diaper bag.
He's a sweetie AND a keeper! :o)
Oh I was totally expecting a real sappy lovey dovey reason at the end. But that was just perfect! It doesn't have to be sappy to be love and that's what I love about this post!
Thanks for sharing, now if only I could find a way to get my hubby to wash the dishes and take out the trash without my begging and pleading...
You are one lucky gal! That Razor is a Keeper :). Great post Dana!
LOL. i love it!
plus, he has a darn cool name!
