Heard this afternoon
Licious, my 9 year old, loves to sing. She sings nearly every waking moment. And she has a captivating voice and always interprets songs in beautiful melodies. And hearing her sing is, honestly, one of my favorite things in the world.
Never mind that she sings the same line of the same song over and over and over. All day. That really has nothing to do with this story.
Today my 11 year old was still working on homework while Licious was already done and prancing around the house singing. I had asked her nicely several times to quiet down because her sister was still working. Or, please go sing somewhere else until her sister was done.
After about the fourth time that she started singing yet again, I gave her the look. You know. THE look. The look that says, "I'm serious. You better knock it off now or things are going to get ugly."
She stared back at me and said, "I stopped myself that time! At least now I can be moved from "hopeless" to "needs improvement!"
Man I love that kid.

:)
Too funny!
THat is great. I love it when the dry sense of humor comes out in those girlies. Probably just what you needed.
Bwahahahahaaa....and she is only 9....you are in big trouble!:)
Did you burst out laughing?
There is nothing more lovely than a pure voice singing for the pleasure of it.
This is such a tender age.....hanging onto to childhood while longing to be a "grown up" teenager.
Happy Weekend
Sounds to me like she has a little of her momma in her...
Bet that ruined your stern look in a hurry! She's too cute.
a grand singer AND self aware! most definitely NOT hopeless :-)
