Pinterest & A Giveaway

I've been known to spend many hours over on Pinterest.  You?  My food board is jam packed and over the weekend I made these from a recipe that I pinned a few months back.  You can get the recipe I followed here.

Baked Spiced Chickpeas

Almost two months ago I pinned this as well

A pillow made to look like a campfire!!!

Eeppp!!!

I pinned it and then emailed the maker, Kristin of Woolly Petals, and started asking how she made it.  Cause even though she made it as a toy for her adorable son, I imagined it on my bed. Whatever. To each their own.  Not that it isn't the greatest idea for a toy.  Cause it totally is.  It's just that my kids are sort of past that stage and I still wanted one.

Does that make me weird?

Wait.  Don't answer that.

Well, one thing led to another and then Kristin agreed to write up instructions on how she made it, post it as a tutorial over on her blog, AND give one away here!

Sweet!!

You can find the Campfire Pillow Tutorial here.

And after you check it out be sure to come back here and leave a comment to enter for a chance to win this, courtesy of Woolly Petals.

Leave a comment here for your chance to win the campfire pillow pictured above.  One entry per person.  International entries welcome.  Entries accepted until Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 6:00pm EST US.  Winner will be selected by random draw and announced soon thereafter.

Good luck.  And if you've never been on pinterest before, don't say I didn't warn you.

I am holding off on jumping into pinterest as long as I can... but I love looking at what other people have found! That pillow is just too cute and I'd love to win one for my littlest nephew.

Love that pillow... I've been loving pinterest too.

I've been using it to share ideas with my 9yo... I pin them, then she can look at craft ideas when she has time.... instead of me forgetting where I saw what!

Okay I didn't get the pillow until I saw it in place for pretending!
Don't you just love peoples imaginations!

I am fighting with all I've got to stay away from Pinterest.......
Facebook too...
don't I spend way too much on the computer already!
I imagine it will take the place of bookmarking computers which is what I do now when I want to go back and look at something that sparked my interest.

fire pillow on your bed......now what are you thinking....hmmmmmmmm.

Happy Sewing,
Kim

Ack, I love that pillow! One of the few gripes I have about my old house is that we have 2 chimneys but no fireplace. I have long said I'm going to buy a mantel, then quilt a fire for inside it - but this is even better!

Both my DH and our best friends (and their DS) are avid campers. What a great tutorial for a fun gift for next Christmas.

Of course, if I was lucky enough to win it would make my gift list one item shorter. . . which would be a VERY good thing!!! LOL

My grands would have so much fun playing around a campfire! (And I was a Camp Fire Girl, all the way through high school, and then I worked at a CFG summer camp, so the idea of a campfire pillow makes perfect sense to me!)

I've made those spicy, roasted chickpeas. Hubby & I both really liked them. You have to pay close attention when cooking them (something I'm not known for, lol). There's a small window between them not being done enough to taste good, and being overly done.

I love the campfire pillow. I have a couple of little granddaughters I know would love it, too. I had fun going back through Wooly Petals older pages. She's very creative, and her quilts are lovely!

Regina said...

that pillow is awesome -and I am resisting pinterest as long as humanly possible... too many projects not enough time as it is... more ideas is the LAST thing I need! :-)
