A few weeks ago Razor, my husband, took Boo and Licious, our daughters on a week long school trip to New Orleans. Many adults and loads of middle school students. In the Big Easy.
Yes, I stayed home.
Yes, I know how lucky I am.
And, yes, I love him with all my heart.
I want this chalkboard with this exact scene in my house. And those yellow double doors while you're at it, eh? |
There aren't many pictures of he and the girls doing all the fun things they did while there. Mostly because they are still on his phone. Along with funny videos that I'm sure my girls are happy I'm not sharing with you.
From carriage rides, museum tours, ghost tours, plantation visits, learning of rice mills and sugar cane, time at the aquarium, Zydeco and Cajun food, they had an incredible trip. I've heard dozens and dozens of stories but nothing compares to witnessing the electric current that runs through the three of them when they talk about their travels.
I'm so fortunate to have the husband that I do.

Looks like a great time! And super memories for the girls too. and hey he takes some pretty decent pictures!
What fun did you get to while the house was empty?
Happy Sewing :0)
super cool, for SO many reasons.
but as for those yellow doors... you'd have to fight me for them!!!
just sayin.
You lucky dog! When my kids were little my DH used to take them to VT. (we have a cabin in a small town) for a month every summer. I missed them but it was WONDERFUL to go to work, come home and SEW or eat adult food or just go to bed. I did the field trips which actually were pretty fun. Hope you had a fabulous week!
Wow, bet that was a great trip for the family.
Will look forward to the other pics/video...heheh...
Glad you had fun at home. :D
Oh, I'm so glad they had fun! I'm from down around there (Baton Rouge) and I'm always happy to hear Louisiana is treating visitors well.
what a fun trip for you all. the girls with their daddio and you with your sewing machine... or your garden... or your soap... ;) xoxo
And he knows how to use a hammer...yep...you are blest!:)
Sounds like a blast (on both sides)! I only wish that there were more opportunities for school trips and experiences like these for young people.
Mind you, I say that now, knowing that someday I might be standing in front a petulant teenager in Prague telling him or her to just quit it and GET. ON. THE . BUS. :-)
It's moments like this that the girls will remember forever
The three of them will never forget the memories of that trip. How awesome for the girls to have time with Dad. I'm sure Razor loved it just as much! :)
Those doors are fantastic! Looks like a very fun trip. Our sr class is taking an overnight trip in September; I've been asked to chaperone and am already dreading it lol.
