A happy dance full circle moment
First of all, these quilts are not mine. Rather they were made by Julie of Distant Pickles. And here's the happy dance full circle moment thing . . .
The other day on Twitter Julie told me that the first quilt she ever made was with my quilt along back in 2009. She said that she was home with a new baby and wanted to make a quilt and found my blog and quilt along and in her words, "the rest was history!"
So now she's designing patterns and selling them and stuff. Specifically this Mod Pop pattern. Which I have just purchased and will be making pronto!
You can find this pattern and template set at Julie Pickles Designs.
That's one seriously spine tingling, goose bump inducing, chest puffing with pride full circle moment.

Yours was one of the first blogs I ever read when I started sewing / quilting in 2009 :) And look now, I'm just amazing.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
That is fantastic! Definitely proud moment. Love this pattern and these quilts. Go Julie!
ReplyDeleteYOU ARE AMAZING AUDRIE!! I should do a post about you as well and the books you are contributing to!
ReplyDeleteDana-I tried to tell you that group is amazing and a lot of talent has been birthed over there in that group. I know my skills have improved heads above where they were when I started. Thanks for sharing Julie's pattern. I scared of curves but maybe just maybe I could do this.
ReplyDeleteThats really cool. And the pattern is great!
ReplyDeleteso cool for you and her! and, yeah. that pattern rocks!
ReplyDeleteThey are very beautiful quilts and I look forward to seeing yours when it's done Dana.

Wow! It must feel good. That is a nice pattern!
ReplyDeleteYou set me on the quilting path too but I've done nothing so impressive. This afternoon I'm taking my wonky block (the third quilt I made with you guys) to the shop to be quilted - it is waaay too big for my little sewing machine. It's only taken nearly two years 8-)
Oh, can't wait to see how your quilt turns out.
ReplyDeleteHow neat to inspired someone and see it come around to this point. That's so cool.
You are an inspiration to many of us. You definitely helped me on my rocky start into quilting.
I have been trying to decide whether to play along. So many options right now of what my next quilt should be.
ReplyDeleteThese quilts are definitely gorgeous, these quilts that you inspired.
ReplyDeleteI bought the pattern and templates...can I blame you? Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour QAL was also my first quilt but I can't come close to claiming being nearly as good as Julie. I love these quilts - thanks for sharing!!! May have to get the templates and pattern soon!
ReplyDeletethat is so great! you are an inspiration to all! xo
ReplyDeleteThose quilts are fabulous; love them!! What an honor to have started someone on their quilting journey.
