Go here. Go there. Do this. Do that. Drive this one to camp for a week. Teach this one to drive. Tend the garden. Mow the grass. Walk the dogs. Tend to the injured cat. Do laundry. Always so much laundry. Fill the hummingbird feeders. Water the plants. Shuttle them to practice. Make another batch of soap. Determine amount of supplies to order to make just enough soap to keep Old Red Barn Co. going only through the remainder of the year. Consult accountant on closing the business? Schedule oral surgery for the oldest. Grocery shop. These people always want to eat. Sheesh! Stand in front of my sewing machine wishing for the time to sit and use it. Pull weeds. Make another batch of raspberry jam. Strum fingers on countertop as I anxiously wait for the blackberries to ripen.
Beautiful photography in the new book by Amy Gibson called For Keeps. |
I try to ride the wave of life. I'm swimming hard right now and if I don't slow down that wave will crash up over my head and leave me tumbling aimlessly in the undertow.
I've only thumbed through this book and already know it's a keeper! |
Hope summer is treating you well!

Happy Summer, Dana. Enjoy it!
(closing the business???)
Good for you! One less stress and time to enjoy the warmth of summer and the longer days.
Right there with you Dana! Treading water and trying to get through each day. Hope you can recharge and relax :) xxxx
Enjoy!
Enjoy your break! (and the book looks very inspiring!)
Dana...taking the time for yourself is important. Enjoy the time.
Guess I will have to stock up, as your soaps are my go-to gift for the holidays for friends and teachers....but I completely understand!
Being a mama is exhausting. Enjoy your time away. You Need to do that : ) Thanks for the book look. It looks yummy. Janita
I thought it was just me! Enjoy your break, I hope you find your zen soon :)
Man I remember those days! Take a much needed break and what was that "close the business" part you slipped in there when you thought no one was paying attention??
Balance can be elusive when we're in the thick of things. But I think it's especially hard for creative types who just have so much to create! But joy in the journey-even if you decide that editing out some of the side roads is really what you need.
Happy Summer! :D
I think that sounds like a fabulous plan...I wish I had had a few moments to sketch on our trip and to just enjoy the view a bit more.
