Family time

The four of us headed out for the weekend. I had a booth at a large art festival but we wanted to treat it as a mini vacation. We did and I'm glad.

I thought about taking my camera but decided against it. Beautiful barns. Barns with painted quilt blocks on them! Historic inns. Friendly neighbors. Ice cream faces. Corn husk dolls made by little girl hands. New shoes for school. Overlooking the town square from our window at nightfall. Ice cold lemonade. Rocking chairs on the porch. Fields of Queen Anne's Lace . . .

The weekend was a break from the hectic pace that sometimes washes over us. We lead a rather calm and slow paced life but the last few weeks have been fast. Crazy. Hectic. The weekend allowed us to re-center, focus and calm. It was nice to have some special time alone with each beautiful daughter. Giggling. Snuggling. Walking hand-in-hand. Just enjoying being together.

I'll get my camera out again soon. This stuff is just too good to miss.
