May cause drooling. Or not.

So I finally got the rotary cutter out.

Can you tell what fabric it is? Take a guess.

Am I the only one who can't bear to throw away the scrappy little nibs of fabric left over?

Guess what I'm making.

Guess what I'll do with it.

I don't throw away little nibs of fabric eiter.

And I will share a secret with you - about a year ago I began making my first cut of fabric to get a straight edge anywhere from 1.5 to 2" with the selvege.

Why such a generous cut you ask? Now I toss that first cut directly into the "string" box under the cutting table. :) No waste at all!

....and one day when I'm making string blcoks I will have scraps of my other projects to remind me of those quitls in my string quilt too :)

Your bright colors are so pretty - can't wait to see what these noodles grow up to become ;) I'll be back for more photos.

Love from Texas! ~bonnie

Thanks for the Drooling caution. I got a paper towel ready!

I have the hardest time throwing any piece of fabric away, no matter the size. I have tons of uses for those strings: tying packages, scrapbooking, my daughters hair ties ... the list goes on.

I wish my jar of strings was a full as yours! Have fun with those.

I save it all and use it to make SOMETHING! I recently used the strings to make cards, thanks to AmandaJean over at Crazy Mom Quilts. Check it out:

I'm guessing you are making something for that marvelous new kitchen of yours ~ maybe a bargello tablecloth??? :)

I am the same way with fabric scraps...it's a little nuts...there must be a support group for people like us. I'm very excited to see what you're making...

Those fabrics look good enough to eat! What do you do with all the little scraps? I tend to keep scraps that are big enough to add to my future-scrp-quilt-collection, but not pieces as small as these!

i was thinking it was maybe some of that new, sort of late 60s early 70s repo...but its that ginger blossom. it really looks nice. the stripes look like they are about 4 inches or so....trip around the world...i dont know but cannot wait to see it.

Ooooh - so pretty! Are you making a log cabin quilt? I like to put the little bitty scraps out for the birds to use in their nests... but I do have a jar with long little strips in it, anything from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch wide... don't have ANY idea why I keep them.

I can't throw away scraps either, I usually make cards with them, but I have a huge bag. Yours look so cute in a jar!
