Favorite movie scenes

This is one of my favorite movies and favorite scenes.

Love Actually is a movie I could watch over and over.

Hmmm. I'm going to go search for it on my DVR. That and Pride & Prejudice . . . arguably the best love story ever. And, the version with Keira Knightly and Matthew Mcfayden is probably my favorite movie of all time. I love, love, love Colin Firth so the version that has him it is a favorite too.

Funny how I just now realized that Keira Knightly is in both.

Any good movie suggestions?

I loved "Death at a funeral" one of the funniest movies I have seen in a LONG time... and an aussie movie is 'The Castle' although not sure if the humour would translate across the 'ditch'..

one of my most favorite "I could watch it at anytime of the day no matter how I'm feeling" movies is "You've Got Mail." Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are absolutely perfect together. It's cute, witty, and romantic! "Serendipity" is another really good one. John Cusack is great in it. Again, another cute and witty romantic movie.

Colin Firth is also in both movies! Love Actually is my all time favourite movie, although Notting Hill comes a very close second...then Dirty Dancing......oh I could go on an on!!!

Dash I was wrong...it isn't Colin Firth in Pride & Prejudice....it's someone else looking almost as scrumptious!LOL

Seriously are we related... I love "Love Actually" and "Pride & Prejudice." While I love the Keira version of P&P, I much prefer the BBC version in which Colin Firth plays Mr. Darcy.

I would suggest "The Holiday" because it so reminds me of "Love Actually". Totally different movies but the same feel to them.

Ha! Also some of my faves. And I agree with the commenter before me. Check out the Holiday. Also, have you seen The Family Stone? Not of the same type but also good.

I love Gosford Park, and the version of Pride and Predjudice you have already mentioned is also one of my favs. Oh and Mansfield Park, LOL.

I love "Steel Magnolias"... I know it's an old movie....but it is just so great! And it has a lot of good actors in it too: Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts, Darryl Hannah and many more!

I have P&P on my DVR too! It has been waiting for me to just sit down for too long. I haven't seen Love Actually - I thin I will try now =) I don't get out enough to suggest any movies to you but thanks for your suggestion - he he =)

Well, they are also both British. And they are both favorites of mine too, so I think you'll like this suggestion: Sliding Doors

Happy movie watching!

Moonstruck and Something's Gotta Give. Cher is brilliant in Moonstruck and it's a family favorite. And I love Diane Keaton in Something's Gotta Give. Hilarious!

I haven't seen that movie, so I probably should have avoided the video to avoid a spoiler, but I couldn't resist. Now I can hardly wait to see it!

I love both versions of P&P, and am hard pressed to say which is my favorite. I love Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth, but I fell hard for Colin 'swoon' Firth in that version. I could watch either of them over and over and over again.

Have you seen Sense & Sensibility, with Emma Thompson, Kate Winslett, and Hugh Grant? I love it. I could watch it over endlessly, too. Hugh Grant is not the typical Hugh Grant we're used to in other movies of his, either.

It never fails, when I feel a kinship with someone on their blog, I end up finding they also love Jane Austen stories and movies. ;-)

Ahhhh Pride and Prejudice! Love it. Tried to get me hubs to call me Goddess Divine after watching it, but he just can't seem to get it down....lol

OK, I haven't seen either one of those! My favorite is I AM SAM. I love, Love, LOve, LOVe, LOVE it! I still laugh and cry every time I watch it and the messages in it are wordless.

I adore both of those movies! And find I like almost anything with Kiera Knightly in it...she's just so pretty. I just On-Demanded Atonement and it was wonderful although a tad on the heavier side. On a lighter side, you can never go wrong with Bridget Jones' Diary...going with the Colin Firth trend.

There's another movie coming out with Firth - I just saw a preview before seeing the Sex in the City movie (which didn't turn out to be all that wonderful) but I remember the Colin Firth movie looking like a goody! :) I just can't remember the name - of course!!! Ugh!

I just watched P.S. I Love You last week and if you are in the mood for crying, this would be the best movie ever. I don't know if I was just hormonal or what, but I cried like the whole movie, and I actually just sat and watched the movie, I didn't sew or do any other project, which is odd for me!

I like your new header! So summery!

I had to put "Love Actually" on my Blockbuster queue after I remembered how much I liked it. And I LOVE Colin! Any Pride and Prejudice will do too...I go for the Keira version when I don't want to spend 6 hours in front of the tv. And may I just add - love the new look of the blog! Looks great!!

I love all the Jane Austen movies, as well as her books, and I adore Colin Firth in everything he's done.
Love Actually is good, too.
A couple of oldies I watch every so often: How to Make an American Quilt, Dr Zhivago, and, of course Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Have you seen Nanny McPhee???? Love both of these as well....or Amelie?? Have you seen that??

Sense and Sensiblilty is good, and Emma is pretty good too. Everyone has pretty much touched on the others that I love. I was back tracking thru your blogs and found this one. Love P&P, one of the all time favorites. It just shows how much in love he really is to do all that and know that if he did end up marrying her he would have to deal with her silly family too. That is love! I think that's kind of what my DH has done... of course mine aren't that sort... just silly sometimes.
Oh, I forgot Sleepless in Seattle!
