Technical issues & quilt giveaway news

So, we got a new computer and I'm in the process of getting all the settings the way I like it and transferring data and all that really cool stuff that I hate to do. I just can't figure out this monitor. It is a wide screen and I've finally got the resolution where it needs to be but now the text on everything seems so small. Well, it is small. Surely there is a way to correct this but those turkeys at the computer store don't go to work until some lame-o hour like 9am or something so I'm left to sit here and wait. (Just in case you know what I need to know I'm operating Windows XP. Monitor is 20" wide screen. I've already set the resolution for 1680 x 1050.)

Anywho, I got the quilt back from the long-arm quilter and only need to put the binding on it and I'm ready to give it away here. Oh, and I'll probably wash it so that it gets that lovely wrinkly, crinkly look that I love about quilts. I'm shooting for early next week!! Just to jog your memory: Made with Ginger Blossom from Sandi Henderson for Michael Miller. And, it is a nice big one too.

I cannot believe that I'm giving this away. Seriously. I love it so very much. Very pink and green. ::Om:: ::Om:: ::Om:: I'm trying to find my place of inner peace. ::Om:: ::Om::

For my first quilt giveaway I offered extra entries if you posted about it on your blog. And, even more entries if you posted the giveaway graphic in your sidebar. I'm thinking of doing the same thing again . . . but NOT YET . . . ONLY ONCE IT KICKS OFF. But, I'm also thinking of giving away big time extra entries (like 50) to anyone that makes a video that tells why they should win the quilt. The only criteria for the video is that is make at least one member of my family (me, Razor, Boo or Licious) laugh out loud. The video must be uploaded to YouTube and posted on your blog. I'm willing to do this cause I bet there would only be 1 or 2 of you crazy cats that would actually do this and because I think it would be rip-roaring good fun.

Ok. So, I'm sorry there are no photos of the quilt to tease you with but I have provided links for you to go see the fabric at least.

Please tell me I'll get the kinks worked out with the new computer soon!

For 50 extra entries to win one of your quilts, I'd do it in a heartbeat IF I had a video camera.

I guess, not having a camera will keep my dignity intact. ;-Þ

Oh....my poor video camera isn't here yet. We ordered it and it hasn't come yet. Boo Hoo. I want that quilt so much. I myself haven't ever had a home made quit of my own. My daughter has had a few and I haven't ever made one for myself. Boohoo....I really would love a quilt made out of such lovely fabrics. I will have to see if I can figure something out.

Ummm - I have no idea on the tech stuff. . . I usually have to ask my hubby or google - lol that I put those in them same category!

I love the fabrics you have used! I can't believe you are giving it away either - do you make others to keep? I don't think I could part with it.

oh i can't wait for the giveaway to begin! you've inspired me to do lots of quilting...a craft that has stayed strong in my family, in which I never thought I would become serious about...but it's just so wonderful! i also wanted to let you know about a frabric designer named Amy Butler. She designs some of the most beautiful fabrics I've ever seen. I recently made a pillow with some of her fabric and made a quilt inspired by her as well. You can see her fabrics and other work at www.amybutlerdesign.com. You must check it out - I know you'll love it!

It sounds like a beautiful quilt. I think it's really nice of you to offer the give away. I can't afford a video cam but if I could I'd be happy to make a video. Quilting is one of the few crafts I've never been much good at. I'd love to win one. Even if I don't thank you for the opportunity.

If you want to save a youtube video into your computer.
you can use many software that there are out there. Also i will recommend you to use MP4 format to download as they are in high quality.
There is an article explaining the procedure http://quizilla.teennick.com/stories/15928890/the-easiest-way-to-download-youtube-videos
