Lately I'm addicted to sewing. I want to do it all day, every day. I think about it as I'm falling asleep and dream about it at night. If I'm at the pool with the girls then I'm thinking about what to do next and scheming how I can create time to do it.
Must have something to do with all the great fabrics I've recently purchased from
Karen and her lovely
etsy shop.

Hey Dana,
Love the print and color combos in the pic!
Huggs!

Look at how everything matches up perfect! I think I'm addicted to your sewing too :-D
The fabrics are so beautiful, I'm off to have a look at that shop!
Those prints are gorgeous and I'm gonna check out that etsy shop now. I'm looking forward to a crafting weekend :)
I get the same way. Sometimes it's hard to sleep because I'm thinking of great projects that I can work on the next day!
GREAT use of color! I wish I could get my mom to make bolder decisions!

I'm in the middle of a sewing binge myself right now. I'm obsessed. Obsessed, I tell you! I've made a quilt, pillowcases, eyeglass cases, and headbands! Still more to come! Enjoy it while it lasts, because inevitably it will wind down at some point.
i ordered fabric yesterday for a quilt. i'm half excited, half terrified.
I love that feeling when the craftiness and fabric love and hum of the machine just pours forth---enjoy it while it lasts!
I feel the same way...obsessed! I can't believe that I'm at work today and didn't call in sick to just stay home and sew!
Yep - I know the feeling :-)
That top looks beautiful!!
Amber
And you make such beautiful things!
You have such a gift with fabric. I love the fabrics you have chosen, there. Gorgeous!
I hear you! The quilting/darning foot and feed cover plate I ordered for my trusty featherweight 221 machine arrived yesterday and I am dying to try some machine quilting with it ~ but "Alas, I haven't a quilt top complete!" (Eyes looking up toward her right hand which rests palm up on her forehead, seeing the cobwebs she missed in last year's cleaning ......) :-D TGIF!
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished project. :) The combination you've shown looks just gorgeous!
I know the feeling - I dream about sewing all the time. I think I have four designs in my head right now!
I'm having a Use What You Have Challenge - no new fabric for me. Luckily I have an embarassingly *huge* fabric stash.
*ahem*
It is addicting, isn't it? Cool fabrics.
If you feel like sewing girl go for it you make some nice things.
Hugs Mary.
I love to sew. I have had to put my sewing projects on hold because Little Miss sewing machine decided she had enough! So until I fix her, or trade her in for a new model (sorry ol' girl) I will have to be content creating with paper and paints for a while. Please stitch a row for me. Have a blast while you are sewing and can't wait to see all that you are making.
Okay the precision alone just made me pass out! Lovely work, Dana. Also, thanks to you my girls have been slaving over the sewing machine, making all manner of sleep gear for their LP pets. It's been fun!
I am delurking to tell you I am in love with your playlist. Almost a stalking-kind of love.
Can you please toss some of that sewing mojo my way? I'm working on a quiet book for my toddler and I need the motivation to finish it!
I love the colors of the fabrics you found!
OK, my sad story about quilting. I have never made a quilt but have some ability in front of a sewing machine. So when my beloved mother-in-law died I took all her blouses I loved so much (and my sister-in-law took other blouses and dresses to make a quilt, also, but she has experience making quilts). So when I had picked all the shiney, colorful prints I loved, you know, the ones that have no cotton in them, the stretchy material. My sister-in-law picked the dull, cotton prints, without saying a word to me until we had finished and then she informed me that you can't make quilts from that type of material because it stretches. cheeze. I'm stubborn and I love these prints so I am calling out for help as to how to I make a quilt with this material. Or, maybe, just a collage of some sorts to remind me of my mother-in-law.

You and my sister Amanda Jean. I feel that way about books sometimes.
Well all your thinking must be rubbing off on me-I'm wanting to learn to sew more and more lately.
I'm with you - I was at the movies today (w/o kids!) distracted by thoughts of how to manage my time better so I have optimal time to create and do all the "chores". But then there was a close-up of Christian Bale and my mind went blank as a silly teenagerish crushy grin swept over my face.....
I love this quilt already. Half of my fabric came yesterday - I'm excited to get started!
PS - I love that you have the Shins on your playlist.
Oh Dana...I want some of that creative juice that you're drinking!!
You go girl!!
I've nominated you for a blog award!!
(Absolutley no probs if you choose not to)...
If you do to accept this, please have a look at my blog....and thanks!
hugs
Robyn xx
Dana, you have such great hand when it comes to precision! The squares seem to line up just right. I definately look forward to seeing the finished product :o)
I introduced my grandson to your blog and he couldn't stop dancing, jumping like a Mexican jumping bean to New Shoes and I'm Yours.
Dana, isn't that the Park Slope and Garden Party from my shop? What are you doing with it? Looks like retangles....hummmm another great start....I can't wait to see it coming along!!
i have so much to sew but i was a sloth all last week...couldnt get my act together, maybe it was the barely 50-40 degree weather. had to keep windows closed and have been under flannel sheets and quilt...un...i thought this was summer. today it is a whopping 62, i am excited!
very pretty quilt! hopefully this week will be much more productive!
That's funny - 'cause lately I have been addicted to your sewing also!
I love these fabrics and colors. They make me smile!
you and me both! except my machine needs repaired!! :0( your fabrics are dreamy!
Really the most wonderful mix of fabrics!
You always have such pretties.
Fabulous!!!
Glad I'm not only daydreaming! I have the same daydreams... dreams at night... when I drive - my gas peddle is my sewing machine peddle...
Ooops: "... not THE only ONE..."
