Delicious bounty
We have harvested hundreds of jalapenos from the garden this summer. No lie. I know that occasionally I have the tendency to exaggerate. However, we really, really have harvested hundreds of those suckers this year.
So over the weekend I threw together a little recipe I will heretofore call Cheesy Jalapeno Bake.
I cleaned out the seeds from the insides and then steamed them until they were soft. Then laid them flat in a baking dish. Then I laid strips of bacon over the top and broiled them until the bacon was crispy. Then melted a generous amount of cheddar cheese over the top.
We all ate them so fast it was as though they never existed.

That looks like an easier version of Pioneer Woman's recipe, where she stuffs them with cream cheese and wraps a bacon strip around them and grills them.
Either way, I might have to head to the grocery store for some jalapenos--only we'd probably leave the seeds in!

So your children eat hot food? That recipe makes my mouth hot. If you promise it's not any hotter than black pepper then maybe I'll try the recipe.
My husband would love this dish. He eats his peppers right off the bush. Mine have to be cooked. Tasty sounding recipe.

OoOo I just made pepper jelly for the first time and it was a LOT of work but it turned out so good! It uses up a bunch of peppers!

Must have been a banner year for jalapenos all around. I got tons from just a few plants. I've had the cream cheese stuffed jalapenos with the bacon wrapped around them. YUM-MO! This looks far easier.

It wasn't too firey HOT? or do you guys LIKE firey HOT? eeks! looks SO good! I can hardly wait for next spring! hopefully all my construction projects will be done, and the 'garden' will be high priority! My first one... and i can't wait! xoxoxo

Um, yum! However, most of my family hates peppers of any kind. I am quite sure I would end up having to eat the whole thing by myself!
