I'm keeping this one

My favorite quilts are mismatchy patchworks. And, this one is certainly a mismatchy patchwork.

I'm keeping this one for sure. In fact, it's on my bed right now.

lovely as always! i love how rich that blue and brown fabric is. lots of primary colors...it just pops so nicely! especially with that yellow stitching! i've been steadily plugging away at mine and will be posting photos of it some time soon. i just got back from visiting family in Virginia so i have lots of photos to share with the blog world!

Oh Dana, it is gorgeous! I love that dark blue fabric with the flowers! And the quilting is fantastic :-)
I'm glad to know, that sometimes you do keep a quilt for yourself!

yesterday was my birthday and I received some scrumptious fabric. I believe you would say yummy or delicious. Ha. Fabric was from Moda/Woodland Bloom, by Lila Tueller. Love it. Laying them out playing with them is fun. My favs. are the pinks, greens and browns. So much more girly when leaving out the aquas, however, they all do go together. Just might order some more packs and do front with the girlie look the other side the aquas. You have inspired
me and my girls. Question? Do you quilt yourself or send it off?

Cool colors ~ cool quilt! I also love the mismatchy scrappy types. I loved it when my great-aunt made afghans using only her leftover yarn or "scraps" as she called them. But she'd never give those away because she thought they weren't good enough. 8-D They were the only ones she kept and used in her house.

Your mismatchy patchworkiness is inspiring to me who has a scary time putting things together for fear they won't go together! It's stunning!

I got MORE fabric today. Is there a support group for this? I have a disease, I'm sure of it.

That may seem weird as a question, but I have been envisioning quilting for a while (i did my degree in fashion design so i know my ends around a sewing machine) however, I am wondering how you do the machine quilting (i believe that's what it is) on top of your guilt - do you really do this freely without any patterns or do you have it done by a specialized shop or... ????
