Bee happy

Quilting bee blocks make me happy. Happy cause I am doing them. Happy cause it is always a surprise as to what fabrics I'll get to work with. And happy cause I only have to make one block instead of 56.

Sarah wanted a rainbow log cabin. I kept repeating Roy G. Biv in my head while I made it. I even made up a little song. A jingle if you will. And, no, I will not share it with you because it is super dorky.

Amy wanted vintage bed sheet scraps to be made into a picnic quilt. She also wanted a black bird on each block. Viola! I opted against embroidering little black ants marching across the block. I figured that would be cute in theory but not so cute when actually on a picnic.

What a fun bed sheet scrappy block! Have to agree about the ants...although maybe the little black bird would swoop in and save the day, picnicing on ants!

Quilting Bees make me so absolutely happy. I love that I am guaranteed one project every month. It keeps me going in the sewing world! Thanks again for inviting me to be a part of A Notion or Two. It has been so wonderful and a true blessing!

These blocks are so fun! I love the owl, I think the ants would be awesome too.
So how this little song goes Dana?

I'm loving being in a quilting bee too! It's gotten me in quilt mode, I've actually already started 6 scrappy patchwork quilts for my family for Christmas already! And I have plans for quilts for my girls and for my bed! My husband thinks I'm crazy, he may be a tiny bit right!

I got my square in the mail a few days ago, and I love it!

wow, it is good to see you out of the grasp of Facebook, did you hear about the guy who stole a laptop...just to check his Facebook. He is probably in jail and not able to check his Facebook....poor guy.

I don't understand all this quilt stuff....I'm not addicted to it but I do see how you and many others are caught in the beautiful grasp of sewing scaps together. I have a project of my own to do....my mother-in-law's scapes.....you know (how I loved her).....but all I can do is watch you work like a worker bee, worker ant...it is beautiful to see. Maybe someday, if I am lucky, I will be there, too.

What a crack up! You totally need to go over to my etsy shop just for giggles. That larger floral print sheet. I have it for sale in my shop! LOL. My camera was not cooperating and the color of the photo I took is horrible. But as soon as I saw your ADORABLE! block, I knew it was my sheet! And that owl is SO cute!

Oh, I love those. I just joined my first bee and I think I'm going to ask for squares for a picnic blanket. Or a camping blanket.

AWESOME project. Honestly, I can't remember how I found you but I'm glad I did. I've even added you to my blogroll since I'm new to this blogging thing.

Dana - I love the rainbow block, and the little black bird is genius! I love both of them - It really makes me want to get my sewing room cleaned up so I can get in there again and do some stitching!
