Artisans

A simple patchwork of collected vintage chenille.

And, dude, the most amazing bread ever. I made it. Yes me. So good and so easy that I made three loaves this weekend. It is the master recipe from the book Artisan Bread Making in Five Minutes a Day.

I'm gonna have to buy flour in bulk. Seriously.

The girls were baking too. Only, outside on the concrete pavers.

And, I . . . well, let's see . . . I was laying on the grass feeling the cool breeze on my face . . . SCREECH! HALT! WHAT??!!**??

Er. Um. I mean I went to see what Razor was up to. Building a few raised beds for a fresh planting of strawberries, onions, and carrots. I love strawberries, onions and carrots. Not together of course.

I love Razor too.

Now where was I? Oh yes . . .

. . . dreaming of crystal blue waters, white sandy beaches, fruity, frosty sensations with an umbrella . . .

A good weekend indeed.

That little vintage quilt is so divine. Great spring pics too. The bread, you make us want that recipe.

I love that bread, we ate it almost every day for a while. I wish for blooming trees. Soon! Vintage chenille?? Where did you find it?

I'm so glad you made the bread! Isn't it delightful and so satisfying to have something that good come from your own oven?

Love the spring pictures. The early blossoms are making me VERY happy!

we are going to try some raised beds this year and i am putting small gage (holes) wire around it cause we have a semi resident rabbit who ate every speck of my beans last year...not so this year my dear little bun bun.

So spring finally made it to you!

Don't you love that book? I finally feel confident baking bread.

Maybe if my beds had been built with more love, my seeds would have sprouted. Alas, it is not to be and tomato plants from the nursery are the lone crop this year. I suppose I'll have to turn to your bread book to make something fabulous to eat those tomatoes with!

I love your song list. I've learned lots of great artists from enjoying your art and creativity. Thanks for sharing!

We use this recipe too. We got it from Mother Earth News Magazine. It is wonderful and so easy. We scrape down the sides and remake the dough so it is now like a sourdough. Wonderful! I feel a twinge of jealousy of your beautiful springiness. We still have 2 feet of snow on the ground and are moving into Maine's 5th season, MUD! All my seeds are sitting waiting for the snow to be gone.

Wow!! That bread looks sooo yummy! I'll bet your house smells wonderful! I've been watching that book pop up in blogland. Is it really fairly simply to make that bread? Homemade bread is such a nice treat to have, I need to buy that book! Thanks for sharing your weekend! Libby

When I first got this book I baked bread every night for dinner the first few weeks, then my jeans started getting harder to button and we stopped eating warm bread every night!

But it's fun to do in moderation! And they look so yummy!

I'm seeing photos of bread from that book all over blogland. Think I'm going to have to break down and buy it myself, even though the extent of my breadmaking has been the bread machine so far.

What a gorgeous weekend!

Is the bread really easy to do?

I'll be getting that book this weekend. Oh, & there is nothing better than outdoor mud cookie/pie/cake making when you are a kid.

I made the cinnamon rolls, they were fun to make and yummy, too, but I think that bread would be more popular with my paneros ('pan' is 'bread' in Spanish --- 'panero' is someone who eats bread). That bread should go great with your 'soperos' = 'sopa' is 'soup' in Spanish, thus, someone who eats soup is a sopero, and it usually implies they LOVE soup.
So do I have to buy the book to get the recipe....I hope you have a sec to spare to send me the instruction. Muchas gracias, chica. (thank you very much, girl)

I've been hearing about this bread book and your bread looks mighty tasty.

I might have to follow in your footsteps!

Dude, you made bread!!!

I'm scared of yeast. Seriously, I'm always afraid I'd mess it up so I don't make bread. Otherwise, I'm a decent cook.

Beautiful pictures! :)

I love winter. And, it's a good thing as I live in the north woods of Minnesota. But after seeing these pictures of spring, I've just convinced myself I don't like winter anymore.

As we're getting dumped on...with a foot of snow...
