Did you say Janome?

Some time this week a new sewing machine will be delivered to my door. Only on a test basis so I'm trying not to get too overly excited. Too consumed and fixated. And I'm trying hard not to watch out the window for the delivery driver every minute of the day.

After all, I love my old sewing machine.

It helped me whip up this little tabletop quilt for the top of my dresser. Out of nothing but scraps and in no time flat.

And I know all of it's quirks.

And I know how to fix it when it stops working correctly.

Sewing on the new machine will be . . . um . . . well . . . all new.

I hope there is not a huge learning curve. I hope I can plug it in and start sewing like a pro.

Considering the machine, I think my chances are good.

What?

Oh, yea. You would ask that.

It is the Janome Memory Craft 6600P.

Excuse me while I go look out the front windows . . .

How fun Dana! You will be able to just pull it out of the box and sew -- that's what I did with mine :) I hope you love it! Have fun :)

That is the machine that the two wonderful ladies who taught my quilt class use. They've been quilting for nearly 50 years combined, and they both say it is their favorite machine EVER! I hope it will be for you too, since I love all of your quilts. You are so very talented, and I like to pop in frequently for inspiration.

I know you're busy right now... on that machine. Have fun. Here's my thoughts on the whole "gear" thing. No fancy gadget can give ya skill, but man, it sure does make the ride fun!

It may sew like heaven...but it will never be as cool as your old machine!

Although I'm a Bernina girl, I can imagine your anticipation and know your love for your machine. Enjoy!

Oooh, I'm so excited for you! I know several people who love that machine to pieces. There may be a learning curve to using it, but it will be SO worth it. Hope your package arrives soon.

Really cute dresser scarf. I have a Memory Craft 4800 (a model a few years older) that is sooooooooooooooooooooo wonderful. I think you'll love it. It is an easy to use and fun machine!

There are way too many buttons and do-hickies I would have no clue what to do with that thing. But then again my favorite machine is my Featherweight.

I love your sewing! The new machine will be a bit of a challenge to start with maybe, but the two of you will click and then you'll love it. Ask me if I'm jealous....yep!

Yes, that is a darling dresser scarf/quilt! I love the random feel to it.

A trial basis? Is it like taking it for a test drive? I hope you'll be reviewing it for us. I hope to buy a more quilting friendly machine one day - but I'm pretty happy with the Bernina I'm borrowing from my mom right now - mostly because it's free.

Did it come today?

If you love it can you keep it? I have been eyeing this one. I love my Janome, but would love to upgrade.

I also just got a new machine. It took a month and a half (I won it in a contest) to get to me, so I've been following (literally) all the FedEx trucks I see remotely close to my house. It's a tough life waiting for a new machine. Hope yours comes soon; before you start chasing the trucks like I did. :D

Lucky you...I have a Janome Memory Craft 4000 that I've had for 12 years...and it's never given me one single problem!

I am lusting after that Janome! I just have the MemoryCraft 3500, which I do love, but I'm ready for something a bit better. And that's the one I want. Be sure to tell us what you think of it while I sit here and drool!
