TIME'S UP. WINNER OF THE JANOME 6600 SEWING MACHINE WILL BE ANNOUNCED TOMORROW. GOOD LUCK TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU.
So this is it. The moment you all have been waiting for. I'd like to think that the quilt along and all the giveaways along the way have been fun. And educational. And worthwhile. But let's face it. They don't mean squat in comparison to this.
I know things people. I've been to college. And around the block a time or two.
I've got my finger on the pulse of the human spirit.
You have been waiting for the mac daddy. And today is the day.
Leave a comment to this post for your chance to win the miraculous Janome 6600.
It is fantastically amazing. I love it so much that I missed it while on vacation. For real.
Some of my favorite features are:
-- the independent motor for bobbin winding
-- speed control lever
-- the start/stop button
-- the almighty automatic thread cutter!!! (can't I get a Amen on that one?)
-- extra high pressure foot lift
-- knee lift!!
Oh. I. Could. Go. On. For. Days.
What? You don't want me to go on for days? Hmmm.
Ok. Well, let me just summarize by saying that I love the Janome 6600 because it allows me to make quilts with absolute ease. Like this.
::Deep cleansing breath::
Leave a comment to this post for a chance to win the Janome 6600. Only one comment per person. International entries welcome. Contest will run from now (June 29, 2009) until next Monday, July 6, 2009 at 6:00pm EDST US. A winner will be announced on Tuesday, July 7th.
Good luck!

Wow, Dana! Thanks for helping SO many people get going on making a quilt...you made something that looks intimidating accessible to a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise have dared try it! I made mine with my Mom. We had a blast picking out the fabric together.

I recently went from a police detective to a SAHM and I am having a blast! However, my craft endeavors have been almost non-existent due to a difficult to use machine. I would love this machine to help this cop become a crafter!

Would looove to bring this machine home!!! I'm dreaming about the threas cutter! Thanks for this quilt along! :-)
My quilt is finished because my back problems only got worse but finally today, I feel I am improving. It took serious meds and now looks like I might have to have surgery so this was not a fun time. I'm hoping in a day or two, I can get back on track with the quilt. It would be fun to win that machine. Somebody is going to scream really loudly when they get the e-mail from you saying they have won! LOL!
Oh, brother, I can't type......That should have been "My quilt ISN'T finished"....I'll blame it on the pain meds. :-)
Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed the quilt-a-long. This is my first quilting experience and the simple instructions and clear photos have made the whole thing so much easier. Thanks!

PS...I learned so much doing this!
I'm just beginning to learn quilting. I've got a very basic machine that works okay, but not great. It would really be exciting to win something like this machine and motivate me to keep challenging myself.
Thanks for your blog. I really enjoy following your activities, lessons, and projects. Your work is really lovely. Keep it up!

Thank you so much for the fabulous tutorial. I have been collecting fabric for years and reading quilting books but never knew where to start.... that is until I found your blog! Now I am halfway to my first quilt! Thanks.

My goodness!! My mom and I could totally use this!! *crosses fingers*
I wanted to put in my comment for a chance to win this machine. It would not be for me, but for my mom. Her name is Stephanie. Her most favorite hobby is sewing and she is really talented at it. She has been wanting this machine for probably about three years, but can never afford it. She is an angel in her everyday life as she takes care of my little sister, Maddie, who has Down's syndrome. All her extra time goes to Maddie. I wish that she could have this machine to be able to relax and enjoy herself...she really deserves it.
Thanks for your time!
Can't even believe this giveaway is possible - you rock!
OH! This is just what I need to create the beautiful quilt for my new daughter. I just got the pieces in the mail last week!!
Thanks for the chance!!
This is just lovely. My husband just said I needed to get a new machine.
Wow what an amazing give away. This would definately make quilting a lot easier. I have four children and every school year I make each of their teachers a quilt with the class children handsprint on it. I've been doing this for the last six years. My machine is about worn out. I got in on the quilt along a little late, but am finishing it up. Thanks for the fun.
I would love to try out that machine. It has so many fun little things that I'd love to use.
Dana - I would be so blessed to win this machine - I bought my first Janome when I was 17 years old and I still love it. My 11 year old daughter is using it to sew p.j. bottoms and fun little pillows for her doll. Reverse doesn't work any more, but this machine is a workhorse! I have a Janome serger too - second hand to me, but I love it.
Thanks you for making quilting less of a mystery!
awesome! Right now I have a 1 in 1510 chance to win - doesn't look too promising for me, huh?
Such a great blog! Thanks for all the fun stuff! Not to mention, the best giveaway EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Are you kidding me? What are the chances??? I mean ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND 12 people here. Anyhow... If you saw the things the I tried to create on my grr**Kenmore*** you might just shed a tear of sympathy.
Please, oh please, oh please pick me!!

What a wonderful thing. I loved the idea of your quilt-a-long. I live in Tennessee, but could be right there learning with you!
I did not have the opportunity to learn from my Grandma, but do remember a big quilting frame in the living room, and the neighbor ladies coming in for the afternoon.

Hi,
I just found your blog through Jodi@This, That and the Other. She had a picture of a quilt that she had made with the quilt along, so I had to stop by your blog to see what it is all about. I did enjoy your tutorial on binding the quilt (that is all I have read so far.) Would love a chance at the machine. Happy 4th of July!!!
My goodness, almost missed the mac-daddy of giveaways because of vacation and lack of computer availability!
Like the other 1500+, hoping for a new sewing machine!
It's been a great quilt along!
I would love to be able to quilt my own quilts. Send that new Janome 6600 my way. I loved doing this quilt since I got to use my black, white and red stash.

My Mo Mo Wonderland just arrived so off to begin your awesome Quilt A Long now... Better late than never... Hey?
Thank You Dana !!!
Please. Please. Pick. Me. I'll pay it forward (in tiny impoverished, but grateful increments). I'll make baby clothes and never leave another project unfinished (for more than a year), and I'll use up all my stash, and generally do everything right.

Shine on me! :)
I would be ever so grateful if it was me!!!
That would blow my old Singer out of the water! Thanks for the awesome contest!
My experience with a Janome sewing machine has been so positive!! These are great machines and I would so love to win this Janome 6600. Thanks for this opportunity!
Oh, what a wonderful machine this would be! Just started quilting and it would be lovely to have a machine like this.
How fun!! I just found this on Janome's Facebook link. If the 6600 was mine, it would be so fine. Thread cutter and knee lift, beats the old POS I deal with. Help me whisk out the old and bring in the new, I'd be forever grateful and no longer blue! ~*.*~
I've been quilting a couple of years. Still learning. But I would love to have quilting as a source of income for our family. My husband, a teacher, is looking for a job. We and our daughters (2.5 & 9) will probably end up in my in-law's basement apartment. Nice to offer such a machine for free!
I can't even imagine what it would be like to own and use a machine like this! I've only had basic ones for the last 20 years because that's all I can afford. I would love to win this :)
Along with everyone else, I would love to win this! Great machine!
It would be so lovely to win! :)
I would love to win this machine! I have had a Janome 6500 for about 5 years and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to upgrade!
Beautiful machine. Quilting is a lost art in some areas. Would love to see it make a big comback.
I love the photos on that red chair. Oh my goodness, those are awesome. What a great chair, too, to highlight your work! I got to use the automatic thread cutter once... oh oh oh. I so loved that. I've been in machine envy ever since. (I have to jiggle my cord to keep my trusty old machine going these days. Lol.)
My machine is old and tired. I would love to give this 6600 a new and wonderful home. I promise to love and cherish her as we make beautiful quilts together.
maggie
I just wrestled with a quilt using my Janome Gold. Nice little machine, but quilting with this would be like HEAVEN!!
Wow! I just happened to find this site by chance this morning and I am so glad I did. Winning the Janome 6600 would be so amazing! Best of luck to everyone who enters. I know I am already dreaming of all those quilts yet to be sewn! Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity!
This Janome would be a reason to set aside my 24 yr. old Kenmore. Really, I'm still using my old Kenmore.
Debra
