Win a Janome 6600 NOW

TIME'S UP. WINNER OF THE JANOME 6600 SEWING MACHINE WILL BE ANNOUNCED TOMORROW. GOOD LUCK TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU.

So this is it. The moment you all have been waiting for. I'd like to think that the quilt along and all the giveaways along the way have been fun. And educational. And worthwhile. But let's face it. They don't mean squat in comparison to this.

I know things people. I've been to college. And around the block a time or two.

I've got my finger on the pulse of the human spirit.

You have been waiting for the mac daddy. And today is the day.

Leave a comment to this post for your chance to win the miraculous Janome 6600.

It is fantastically amazing. I love it so much that I missed it while on vacation. For real.

Some of my favorite features are:

-- the independent motor for bobbin winding
-- speed control lever
-- the start/stop button
-- the almighty automatic thread cutter!!! (can't I get a Amen on that one?)
-- extra high pressure foot lift
-- knee lift!!

Oh. I. Could. Go. On. For. Days.

What? You don't want me to go on for days? Hmmm.

Ok. Well, let me just summarize by saying that I love the Janome 6600 because it allows me to make quilts with absolute ease. Like this.

::Deep cleansing breath::

Leave a comment to this post for a chance to win the Janome 6600. Only one comment per person. International entries welcome. Contest will run from now (June 29, 2009) until next Monday, July 6, 2009 at 6:00pm EDST US. A winner will be announced on Tuesday, July 7th.

Good luck!

Well, this is exciting indeed. Plus, my fabric for this quilt along arrived in the mail yesterday, so now I can "quilt-a-long" too. On an odd note Dana, we somehow ended up with the same vintage sheet for our backing. Weird. I await the results with great anticipation! Thanks!

Expedition Escapes said...

The quilt along has been great. I love the pattern and the best part, using scraps. I am still working on quilting the top to the bottom, this machine looks like it could do it in half the time it is taking me.
I am going to make another quilt like this, but from the material that they gave me for my 50 birthday that was all over my office. Thought what a great way to remember my birthday. Thanks for the tips and tricks.

Wow, I haven't had time to enter the quilt a long, or the other give-aways, but for THIS, I'll make time! Thanks!!

Hello,

I would love to be entered in the draw, please! I am participating in the quilt along and have my blocks completed. I've posted my progress pics in your flickr group.

This has been lots of fun! Thanks for all your work in organizing it.

I have so enjoyed the quilt along (though I'm not as "along" as I should be at this point but I did start late...good excuse, right?) and all of your tips! Thank you. Now, I'd enjoy finishing my quilt much better with that fancy pants new machine!

I was planning on buying a new sewing machine this week....maybe I'll hold off until the 7th... with fingers crossed!

Dana, beautiful work as always. Thanks for the step by step tutorials. Please, please can I win?

Lisa said...

Just finished my quilt top this morning for the QAL! Maybe if I win the Janome, I could work twice as fast and get double the work done. :)

Thanks Dana!

Michele H said...

Oh, how I could do a little dance just thinking about winning this little beauty. I've posted my pictures and followed along and dreamed of this machine. Even if I don't win, I'm in love with my project. It's so beautiful, and when it's finished I'll wrap myself or my 16 month old in it and think of you and this quilt along. It has been fun!

So how does this most wonderful machine compare to a Bernina QE Aurora 440? I went from a manual Bernina Sport to my Aurora and thought I died and went to sewing heaven. Sounds like you feel the same about this Janome. Would love to compare the 2 machines side-by-side to see which I would keep and which I would give to my daughter!!

I would love to win that machine!!!! Your quilt along is my next project. I'm really excited that it's over that way I don't have to wait until the next step, which is currently where I'm at for the Crazy Mom Quilts quilt along. I'll post pictures once i start!!! I'm really enjoying your blog!

King Family said...

I simply want to win. Thanks, in advance for the chance.

Leah Spencer said...

I wanna win this so badly!!! My machine hasn't been behaving on the free-motioning lately. Doing just fine on piecing... which is why I have a quilt TOP, and not a finished quilt!!

I PROMISE to use and love the machine! I would like to set it up to free-motion full time and my other machine strictly for piecing.

If I don't win... can you make my free-motioning tension better? :)

I am almost sad that it is time to give away the machine. Don't get me wrong I WANT that baby, but it feels like the end of a great experience. Everyone here has been so helpful. Many friends have been made, many friendship will grow from here. Although it doesn't express what I think we all feel, thank you Dana.

You have banked some majorly good karma!

This is the first time I have heard of a Quilt Along. It's been lots of fun watching everyones quilt come to life.

I've really enjoyed seeing the pictures you posted as part of your tutuorial.

I have heard that the Janome 6600 is a fabulous sewing machine.

Well this is what we all been working toward. We have posted pictures, flickred like crazy and today is the day!! Today will live on in history...well maybe not!! But we are all excited non-the-less. Thanks!!!

Barb said...

Yea! Quilt is quilted and I'm working on hand stitching the binding now. So fun to see everyone's progress and read the posts. Good luck to us all. Wish we could all have a machine like this, but of course the winner has a good excuse to shout for joy. Hope it's me!

napworks_quilting said...

What a great way to do this! The quilt I wasn't that interested in is almost done when others I was working on are still sitting. I love the quilt! Pick me for the machine!!!!

Anonymous said...

Wow! Thank you so much for the great tutorial. I haven't been able to quilt along because I was finishing up the school year, but I have been following and taking notes. You inspired me to get back to quilting and sewing. This machine would be a dream for me - I am using the machine my parents gave me when I graduated from college 30 years ago! It works, but needs help. I looked at some new machines in the fabric store the other day and realized what an antique mine is. It would be AMAZING to be able to sew with this beauty. Thanks again for all you have done...

kirsten said...

Okay, I know I'm not worthy to enter this competition. The Janome 6600 is not for mere mortals like myself. If this were highschool, the Janome 6600 would just flip her long blonde hair and ignore me and my bad complexion.

BUT, if I am the lucky winner, then I have an even luckier little sister who is, like, the head cheerleader with the hot quarterback boyfriend when it comes to the world of quilting.

All this to say I adore you, Dana, and this contest is slayer.

Tracy said...

Thanks so much for the quilt along, I love learning new patterns and this one is a great one! It was fun from picking out the material to seeing it come together! And of course the give aways were nice too! I hope I win but if I don't I hope someone who really needs a machine does. But I still hope it's me!

Well. I can honestly say that I would commit to sewing my first quilt ever if I won this machine. I sew lots of other stuff--always from found fabrics (thrift shop finds, big left-over scraps from my friends' curtain projects, boxes and boxes of fabric from my husband's aunt's barn. I find that old fabric finds me. So I'd put the Janome to good use. I sew every day. What a nifty giveaway. Thanks.

my quilt top is at the quilter right now and won't be done until july 15th. i will post the results when it is completed. thanks again for the great instruction and fun time.

I've had the most fun with this Dana - thank you again for the motivation and inspiration. I'm not sure how the entry tallying is going - but I did use the Flights of Fancy fabric and I've been posting on flickr - and I finished my quilting about a 1/2 hour ago and will start my binding after dinner. :) Life is good!

And after doing the whole thing on my 20 year old Kenmore - I think I'd dance on the tables for a new machine! I mean - an automatic thread cutter?? Get OUT!

This is a delight to just think that MAYBE I could win a Janome 6600.. And you didn't mention all those 163 stitches, or the Acufeed, or the 9 by 5 bed space, ir the jam proof magnetic rotary hook, memory, and and ...and ....whew... fan me, I am running hot!
If I could afford one, I would buy it today!

This has been so much fun. Having a "timeline" has kept me on task and I can't believe I got a quilt this size done so quickly. I have made a few friends and learned a lot along the way. Its been nice having something to look forward to each week and having people who will listen everyday.

I am trying to start a home based business and this machine would make it a whole lot easier. I have hit the limit with my current machine and have big plans for the next one!

Thanks for everything Dana.

Thank you, Dana, for the fantastic giveaway. I've loved reading all of your posts about your quilt along these several weeks. It was educational, and worthwhile, and fun. BTW, my husband and son and I are loving your music selection, esp. "Ordinary Day."

I have just started quilting myself, with my Grandma's OLD machine, and I am addicted! This machine sounds AMAZING!

Love the site :) Fingers crossed!!

Thank you for the quilt along! It has given me something wonderful to do as I work far away from my home and family. I am even hand quilting again!

This particular Janome machine has been a dream of mine for a few years now. Every time I am at the quilting store I stop, stare at it, and touch it - then dream of having it for my very own! Needless to say, I LOVE IT.

Thanks so much, Dana!

I only just started looking at your blog today, and I love it! Now, a chance to win THIS beauty???? Thanks so much for the chance! I can't imagine owning such a machine! I only just got my first sewing machine - second hand from someone after begging for on on freecycle. (Okay, not begging - asking nicely and very politely, but in my heart, you know I was begging!!) If you have another stitch along, I SOOO hope to join in! : )

Thanks so much for the great sew-along! You've inspired me to get back to the sewing room, I've even bought the fabric for this quilt in the "spring" line (that is in line behind another top to finish first).

It would be awesome to win this new machine, I appreciate all your hard work putting together the tutorials. Thanks again!
