Hugs to you my friend - I do the same thing, and Em will be going to kinder this year too. two in school, it will be quiet around here. Go make some cookies for them or snuggle the puppies - it will be over soon!
Dana, this is our first fall where no one is going to school....it was weird. But next Fall our daughter hopes to be going to grad school, she deferred for a year. In the mean time she fell into this awesome job at a German Bistro http://www.doenerusa.blogspot.com/
pouring beer and writing for them. The owners are plugging it on the Elliot in the Morning show http://www.eitmonline.com/home.html
at 9am on Thursday and she gets to go with them and film it and then blog about it!!
But I feel you....many a deluge has come from these eyes! Enjoy it but just think of the wonderful things to come!:)
I agree with Cindy, it goes by too fast. Sometimes I revel in the fact that they are grown, happy and on their own. Then there are times I long for them to be small again. I guess that's what grandkids are for....
My DD, Abigail, starts kindergarten in one week. I don't know how it happened ... she was born yesterday! Right?! What am I going to do without my little gal pal!!!!! I'm planning on fortifiying myself for the drive home with a 64 ounce Diet Coke from the gas station and some good dark chocolate. LOL.
Love your blog, Dana!!! I'd love to have you visit mine. =)
It's so hard to send them off to school. It doesn't matter how old they are! They just grow up so darn fast!
Love the photo sequence of the water ...oh that's me in my new kayak. Paddling down the rapids! Yea ...like that would really happen. I'm more the touring kinda of kayak girl!
Your dam photos are terrific. I am on the 4th day of school and still a mess. The school principal is going to have to ask me to stop waving outside the school windows.
Just so you know... it won't get any easier when they are older... I had that same feeling of leaving him for the first time at big school when I waved him off at the airport for his first independent holiday....and he is really big now!!
How do you think I feel?!?!?! I have to drive one off to college and then drive home alone! Eep! Well, it gets OK after a while .... I'm glad he's got a full active life and wouldn't want it any other way. All I can do now is make him a quilt for his dorm bed so he thinks about me once in a while!
I totally agree. I hope you read our first day of school post...I got misty myself...5th and 3rd grader....and then cried for some random kindergartener's mom at our bus stop.
cute! and they look happy to go off to school again. envious of those shorts, barely mid 60s today. but it is still light at 8. we are going down to ohio in a week so it will be way warmer down there or so i am told. we will see. looking forward to seeing fields almost ready for harvest. i have only seem barren fields plowed up or covered with snow.
My daughter will be going away soon for her second year of college and my son is a senior in high school but taking college classes. The crying never ends. Just so you know. Cute girlies you have there, long legged ones!
i love those skinny little girl legs with the big ol' sneakers! they are just darling and beautiful and you're their mama..... of course, you get tears!
You know Dana just go with it...it is what you are feeling at this moment.. Mothers cry lakes of tears for their children for all kinds of reasons. It doesn't ever stop! And remember these faces on this day....it will never come again.
You are blessed. Love them and let them know :0)it. Happy Sewing
Awesome pictures. I was starting to get worried for you about the water running you over! Just quietly about the kids thing.. I suspect that is why some of us keep on having them. Did I mention I have 16, 13, 7 and a baby? Just putting it out there!! Too bad everybody thinks I'm grandma!!
I am tresuring every moment with my girls they are 2yo and 3yo and I too will be in your boat soon.... I should stock up on tissues. p.s. What has happpened to you lovely music... I don't seem to have it anymore and it was a pleasure to hear.
I'm with you Dana. . . mine are 18, 17, 12 and twins who are 10. . .they started school last week and I cried all the way home after leaving them at their respective schools. . .the older two drove themselves. . .yet more tears. . .I'd much rather have them home. It goes much too fast. Hugs to you!
I'd like to freeze time - just for a little while, maybe a year or so, just to savour my babies a little longer. Because time just goes by too quickly these days!
Okay, yes, we all cried. But now on to some sewing while they're at school, right?! So tell me... is that the Ocoee. You're killing me with all the river pics. I'm ready to go get my kayak out and hose off the spiders.

Great pictures! Hope your girls have an incredible, happy, and successful school year!
Yes, they do grow up too fast. Hope it is a great year for all.
Mine are in the same grades!! They started last week. I didn't cry, but wondered how I became a mom of 5th and 2nd graders.
Love the pictures! If you're like me, you'll also cry when they graduate 8th grade, enter high school, graduate high school, go to college etc. lol
Enjoy it cause it goes by too fast! My "baby" will be 26 in Nov. and it still seems like just yesterday...
I am only starting to realize what all this means - I have my first going off to Kindergarten in a few weeks - I wonder how I'll do.
Hugs to you my friend - I do the same thing, and Em will be going to kinder this year too. two in school, it will be quiet around here. Go make some cookies for them or snuggle the puppies - it will be over soon!
Goes too fast doesn't it?!

Oh, Dana. Sending you a big hug from my neck of the woods...
I'll be crying too when mine get that age...

Great photos! I feel the very same about my kids going back to school. I'm never ready to give them up.

It's hard to watch them grow-up and gain their independence. I hope you're feeling better.
Great pictures!

Cute girlies you have there, long legged ones!

I know! Mine are 18 & 19 and just yesterday they were in 5th & 7th grades...
=-)
Dang. I thought the crying would eventually stop.
Did you make the lunch "boxes"? I loved the skinny legs comment. That has always been my lot in life. "Bird legs Beth". Why did I love school?
Have fun with the puppies. And all that jelly! (still smarting with jealousy)

My daughter is 2 months shy of 9 and just started 3rd grade. I wish she wouldn't grow up so fast...
I'd like to freeze time - just for a little while, maybe a year or so, just to savour my babies a little longer. Because time just goes by too quickly these days!
(Awesome pictures of the water - wow!!!)
LOVE those photos of the river!!! Your girls...too too cute.
Mine are 4th and 2nd grades and I cried too. I get ya.

I love that series of pics Dana! What river is it? Did you have to wait long? I think it's so cool you got to see the water coming down like that!
I find it quite impossible to believe that my 2 little boys are both in high school this year.
nahhh, not possible.
