Not very pretty. To say the least.
I have been to every auto parts store and big box discount store in a 200 mile radius looking for something cute to cover it with. I've even trolled ebay and etsy in search of the perfect cover.
Then I had a light bulb moment. . .
I quilted it very heavily with horizontal and vertical lines. And it is being kept in place with that rubbery stuff that you use under area rugs on hard wood floors to keep them from sliding. So far so good.
And very cute to boot.

wow! very cute. but seriously, i think showing ANY pic of the inside of your minivan takes more guts than pics of yourself in the a.m. YOUR pic was pretty mild, but the inside of my minivan looks like we are homeless and keep squirrels. seriously, it's BAD.

Necessity in the mother of invention... right! Now hanging down the side from the seat you could put pockets for things like snacks, tissues and change :0).

I absolutely LOVE it! I really wish we had leather seats because our fabric ones are stained terrible! Maybe I need to whip some of these up too! Especially to use under the car seats!
You could also attach some elastic straps with velcro on the ends and wrap them around the under side of the seat to hold it in place. I'd rather look at that than a regular seat any day!
That's a great idea, Dana and it looks really nice. Now, keep your doors locked so nobody swipes it!
I've been planning to make something like that for my office chair, it's so imbedded with cat hairs, it's disgusting and nothing I use gets it off. At least that I could toss in the wash!
I am definitely trying this idea. My seat (in my car, not on my body) has the same problem. Well, my other seat could use some help too, but I don't think patchwork is the answer...

Boy do great minds think alike! I have measured my seats already and I am working on plans for quilted seat covers for my seats in my car.
I have a Jaguar (no it's not bragging either it's a 2003)and it is, I am sure the last vehicle that I will ever get and it has white leather seats. If I have on dark colors they will fade on the white leather and I have to get them covered soon to protect them.
I love the colors that you chose it looks great! I would be so proud to sit my bum down on that one ;-)

My husband bought new leather and he is recovering his seats that looked just like that. It is way more of a project than I would ever take on. I like your idea better.

I think this is a fabulous idea! Very clever thinking. I am going to make some for my seats now, before they get ruined like the ones in the car. The great thing is these are a good scrapbuster AND washable. Fabulous.
