Baking

Our first time using a cookie press. We used a vintage one we got from the in laws over the summer. Worked like a charm.

These are Razor's favorite. White chocolate and macadamia nut cookies.

We're still planning on sugar cookies and gingerbread houses on Christmas Eve.

Yum.

Dana -

I have a cup of coffee in my hand right now and I'm thinking that any one of those cookies would go perfectly with my coffee! I don't care if it is before 9:00 a.m. They look yummy! Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Oh, I'm jealous of your press. I have a new version and it just isn't the same as the one we used growing up. Every year we made Christmas tree cookies and I'm happy to pass on the tradition even with a less than stellar press though. We dyed ours green though.

Mmmm cookie press cookies! The vintage cookie press is the way to go. The new ones don't work as well! I found an old on at a flea market in the original box. Talk about a score!!

I am with Razor why eat anything else when there is choc/macadamia around??? my dad has a macadamia tree (did you know they are a native australian nut?) and we are all too lazy to pick them??? they are shoveled up and binned each year.. I made some choc/macadamia's last week! yummmm only thing better than cookies is macadamia shortbread :O)

Ooooh, that makes me want to delve into the storage unit that is our racecar trailer and try to hunt for my packed-away cookie press. Almost. I'm jealous. :) Yummy.

We have the gingerbread house dough in the fridge. That is my son's favorite tradition, other than presents from Santa, of course!

The press cookies look great. That reminds me I need to dig out my press and make some for my husband. He hates Xmas but maybe some of those cookies will jolly him up.

Yummers! I just made some Chex Mix and my first Vegan Mac & Cheese and Lasagna for our son for Christmas day....Lasagna looks and smells great....jury is still out on the mac and cheese, especially since this is my first time using nutritional yeast....at least I don't have to eat it!! My mom is making good old fashion cheesy stuffed shells for the rest of us!! Now I need to go make some cookies...that will smell much better!
Merriest of Christmas' to you and yours and when I look back at the good things that happened to me this year you are at the top of the list!!:)xo

Yummy :) Can someone please explain the obsession with Gingerbread houses? Everyone seems to be making them at the moment? Is it part of the Christmas tradition in the States?

We made spritz cookies for the first time this year as well. Have had a Wilton press for years, but just got around to using it. So fun! But ours didn't turn out as neat and pretty. They're fine, discernable shapes and all...but not as pretty as yours! Hmm...maybe I should go hunting for a vintage press. :-)

Merry Christmas!

Those biscuits look awesome. I did have a cookie press once, but I couldn't really get it to work properly, I think there must be a nack to the consistency.

I love those little cookie press butter cookies! SO cute! I just keep making gingerbread cookies - no one seems to want anything else!

wow! i baked a bunch of thumbprint jammies...used home made, concord grape; blueberry and raspberry jam in the thumbprints. they are a little time intensive cause you have to pull out of oven after 6 minutes to made print and then fill and then put back in oven and bake some more. i used the larger cookie sheet so could only fit one in and only put 9 cookies at a time...but they really turned out good. i just got my cookie gun in the mail the other day, so next i will make spritz cookies...i like to melt dark chocolate pieces and flip cookie onto front side and drag half in melted chocolate and place on wax paper. oh my goodness my absolute favs.......plus sewing christmas quilts that will be diffenately late in getting to their respective beds. but i am having fun sewing them. happy christmas!

Oh, yum is right, I'd offer to help eat those cookies but I suspect you won't need any new volunteers, Dana. They look scrummy!

I think I could learn to love those cookies!

Lovely spritz cookies, absolutely love them!

Lara, I think the obsession is because it is a fun activity for the kids. They get to decorate and eat all the extra candy.

Some people cheat and buy kits but I think that is very nasty. We use the Joy of Cooking recipe and have been for several years. My son looks forward to it so much. I suppose I should go make some Royal Icing and get cracking...
