Weekend things

Snowstorm. Early school dismissal.

Power outage. Telephone outage. Internet outage.

Played Bananagrams by oil lantern. Read many chapters of Miss Spitfire (a story about Helen Keller) out loud.

Robot making.

Another adventure race for Razor. Third place!! Yeah!

Breakfast in bed for him on Sunday.

Quilted a quilt. Assembled the first quilt top for Team Tiara. Made a new bag.

Thought much about a special cousin. And the family who misses him.

Your Team Tiara squares are beautiful! We got 8 inches of snow in the Piedmont. I've been trapped in the house for two days now with lots of great fabric but zero sewing motivation.

I love cardinals too! What a nice weekend. I actually got some sewing done too! But mostly, still decompressing from the trip.

I love snow days! All your pictures are sooo beautiful and peaceful looking. The bright red cardinal on the white branches just pops.

I just mailed you my pink quilt squares today!

An 'old fashion' weekend you had.. just as the pioneer days of past.. what a great weekend for you.. if you wanted it that.. but since it came from nature.. you made the perfect lemonaid.

Why not do this once a month??
What great adventures you'll have.

with love,

Olivia

That is one of the most spectacular cardinal photos that I have ever seen. Can I have it framed? Healing thoughts for your family and cousin. I noticed some pink little gnomes in that quilt... love it. We had a blast sledding here.

The cardinal is awesome but I love the robot - we are having a robot birthday for our soon to be 5 year old this month- and now I am seeing cool robots EVERYWHERE!!! (the quilt is beautiful also!)

Great cardinal picture! Sorry about the outages, though. We got snow and sleet but didn't lose power.
Cute quilt top!

Cardinal - wow! I've seen one in my life - in Arizona. Perched on a cactus it looked like something out of a picture, I like the now shots so much better.

Your outdoor photos are gorgeous. Love the quilt. Love the dresser behind that very cool robot. Congrats to Razor. Sounds like the type of weekend we should all just plan sometimes.... and mostly, comfort to your family missing their loved one.

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our world, and I am fairly confident when I say that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further advances, the possibility of copying our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could experience in my lifetime.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy some pretty winter weather, but sorry it brought along a power outage. It was awfully accommodating of that beautiful cardinal to pose for you like that!
