Practice

The other day someone questioned what kind of pole dancing practice I was talking about.

MAY pole dancing. MAY, MAY, MAY! As in a Scandinavian May Day celebration.

Made me giggle uncontrollably.

What kind of mother do you think I am? Sheesh!

You made me remember winding the maypole as a kid. And teachers trying to get us to remember "over and under". A fun memory. Thanks.

It looks lovely with all those colourful ribbons!

But do you know... that in a gym near me... they actually offer pole dancing classes as fitness? Nothing to do with why you are all getting the giggles :-), but apparently the moves (like having your body horizontally to the pole only supported by your legs, you know what I mean? hanging half way up..) are way good for ALL your muscles. Arms, legs AND tum and bum. Can you imagine being able to actually DO that move... that'd take things to an entire new fitness level!!

When I was a kid in the 50's we use to dress all in white...white dress with a petty-coat underneath, white tights and white shoes.... with flowers in our hair and have the May pole ceremony.....
It was a very special day to welcome Spring!
Will the girls dress up?

Happy sewing

May Pole of course...the girls look great. The trip to the city lookd like alot of fun too.
I have lost over fifty pounds! I went from a 26/28 down to a 18/2o and no idea what i will be when all is said and done. We had such a short wierd winter...not enough snow, so the lakes will be shallower than before. i am using my gammill with great success and very pleased. found out my quartz bulb in my thermofax is dead and a new one is $85, so we made a bunch of smaller screens with my print gokco but the dang flash bulbs cost $29.95 for ten! why is having fun costing so much these days. gotta figure something out fast, because my next class will be screen printing and i really prefer using the thermofax. take care and be well. susan

I've never seen a maypole before! We don't do them here, obviously, cos they would have to be novemberpoles instead.

Well I thought maybe it was YOUR May pole dancing class, you know as opposed to YOUR April, or June lesson.....;)

We did a May Pole dance when I was in the 4th and 5th grade...I still remember the colors, sounds and happiness of that day!

I finished my very first quilt pic found here http://lifenjkway.blogspot.com/2010/04/7-quickies.html I followed your "how to make a quilt" and linked to you in the above post. I posted about making one when you had that give away...the Ginger Blossom quilt...I have enough fabric to make 2 more quilts at least! and I think I might have found a new hobby!
