I pieced this scrappy 9 patch quilt top last summer.
And just last weekend I was lucky enough to get to use my
friends' long arm quilting machine to quilt it.
Who-
hoo! It was fun!
Now the thought of machine quilting on my sewing machine leaves me tired. And sore. But one is waiting in the wings so I better get over it.

Oh, YUM. Love your border! I've not played with a longarm yet, but you make it very tempting indeed.
It looks fabulous. I still haven't quilted mine yet.
This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the polka dot back too. You did a wonderful job!
That looks wonderful! I love scrappy nine patches and this one is really nice!! Love the border too.
This is really, really, really cute. You must love it.
I think I need a clothes line.
Gorgeous quilt!!
CUTENESS!!
Beautiful! I love all that scrappy patchwork goodness - especially thta dreamy looking border.
I feel the same way...I love free motion quilting, but after using my mom's short arm quilter, wadding up a quilt to squeeze under my machine doesn't sound quite as appealing! Guess I need to plan more out-of-state trips to visit her...
Your quilt is lovely.
I bought a "mid arm" machine and a frame a few years ago. It certainly makes finishing less daunting.
How fun to be able to use a longarm machine. Your quilt is great!! Beautiful stitching.
I love this scrap happy quilt. Your quilting is lovely.
I love a scrappy quilt! Great quilt and beautiful photos!
Dana! I love it! Scrappy is my favorite. Seems so warm and snuggly. Beautiful photos. Jenn
This is so cute! I have my nine patch in my UFO pile :)
I love the polka dot back!
Fun indeed! It's beautiful!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this quilt!
Your quilt looks great! How fun to get to use a long arm! I am thinking of renting some time on one to finish a few of my quilts, it takes me a week to quilt a lap quilt on my machine.
Love it! I'm jealous that you got to play on a longarm. I bet it does make for an unhappy transition back to a home machine...
Jennifer :)
Lovely application of a simple block and scrappy fabs. And the polka dot backing along with the binding are perfect for this quilt. nice job!
wow! Dana! is that the first time you've ever long arm quilted??
it's FAB-U-LOUS!!!!
Yes I can see why a long-arm would come in handy - great quilt!
Gorgeous, as usual! I love the back and binding. :)
Woo I love the quilt!! it looks great!!
It's turned out fab!
One of my fav designs.
Love Leanne Nz
I LOVE that quilt!
I love your fussy-cut gnomes! The quilting is lovely, too. And I'm loving how the two different polka dot prints play off each other in the backing and binding. Beautiful quilt!
It's beautiful and it looks like pure summer time! Love it!
Sparkling 9-patch! And finished, what a bonus :) Looks great Dana!
Wow it's big! Love it!
I love the quilt! I am jealous--I wish I had a friend with a long arm machine!
i REALLY like it, dana. looks comfy and comforting and familiar all rolled into one!
Very pretty! I have a top that needs to be finished, and a top that is only half put together... AND several blocks which are in process still... three separate quilts and none finished yet! UGH!
WOW! That is really awesome!! I love everything about this quilt! The front, the back, the binding, the quilting!! EVERYTHING!! I tried to make a 9 patch quilt and ended up throwing in the towel and improvising and only using what 9-patches I had done. They are so time consuming! This is gorgeous!
Oh my! I love this quilt. That is so so so perfect.
OMG - its gorgeous. (So are all your flowers)
Yay! Another convert to Long Arm Quilting, woo hoo!! You did a great job!! The quilt is totally gorgeous.
I have a softspot for scrappy nine patches. Yours is BEAUTIFUL. It makes me happy to look at it. :)
Oh my goodness that quilt is gorgeous!
This is one of my favorite patterns/blocks...simple 9-patch! And the polka dots are great! :) Congrats on the finish!!
Wowee zowee! I love how a simple scrappy nine-patch gets all glam with some white sashing and some great machine quilting..good job! I haven't finished mine yet, but it's my favorite autumn colors.
Thanks for the nudge to finish it!
Oh Dana, that quilt is amazing. I'm so in love with it. You did a great job. Isn't Long-arm quilting great? Luckily I have Shenleigh to do mine for me because my arthritic hands can't cope with machine quilting!!
Did I mention how amazing your quilt is??
Love this quilt...it's absolutely perfect!
Dana, I am IN LOVE with this quilt...everything about it
...the colorful 9 patches, the white sashing, the border, the binding, the backing, the quilting. I'm gonna have to get me one!!!
I love this! Was this Amanda Jean's quiltalong from last summer? I have my 9-patches completed but haven't sewn them together yet.
I'm not comfortable using anyone's longarm, but would love to see one in action. Then again, it'd probably ruin me for domestic machine quilting, too.
I thought I'd made a comment on this allready.. but can't see it.. anyhow. LOVELY !! I did like this quilt when you first showed it but the quilting on it is lovely too. I am glad it is all finished! Are you keeping it?
oh MY, those polkadots make me positively GIDDY.
Gorgeous! Love that border, and the backing is awesome! I love the quilting design you used. That must have been fun to finish this one with a long arm quilting machine. I've always wanted to try one of those.
Looks great! I still have one to finish from Amanda Jeans 2nd nine-patch one-a-day. Impressive finish! Now, go tackle that other one! =)
What a wonderful selection for the binding...from far it looks like a blanket stitch and up close like you have scalloping on it! Very cool! Hope to jump in the next quilt along in Aug. I've got two of these quilt along quilts nearly finished piecing....I need to get my butt in gear...one of them WILL get done because I want to give it for a baby gift in Sept.
There's nothing like the good old basic quilt patterns....
Absolutely Beautiful Dana!!!!

I love the binding and backing choices. I love scraps! I am finishing my daughter's quilt this week based on this pattern/along too.
I love it! The scrappiness has such a happy look - my first thought was, "I need one!" Thanks for the inspiration! xo, Nan
it's a beautiful finish, Dana!!!! i love it!
The quilt looks great. Especially hanging on the line. I think I need a line just to hang quilts so I can take pictures of them.
seriously, the more I look at this quilt the more I want it! Love the polka dots on the back and for the border. enjoy1
Long-arm machines are dreamy. And make one spoiled. I miss being near my mom's, and I wasn't even really quilting then!
The quilt is gorgeous and I love the pattern you chose to quilt it! I want to make one of these too..I have tons of scraps and it's time to put them to good use too!
