***TIME'S UP! WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY***
I mentioned a few days ago that I was going to give away an Accuquilt Go! Cutting System. Lucky for me this is being generously donated by Accuquilt and the lucky winner will receive the Accuquilt Go! cutting machine as well as three dies of their choice.
Now I have seen this exact machine at my local quilt shop. And I've even stopped and looked at it. Even run my fingers along the shiny roller bars. Perhaps turned the crank a time or two. But I hadn't really considered buying one because I'm not a real gadgetry kind of girl. My cutting mat, straight edge and rotary cutter work just fine. Besides, I don't have the time to learn how to work some new machine. When I quilt I want to quilt . . . not figure out how to use some new fangled gadget.
Well, Accuquilt sent one to my house. For me. And that sucker sat in a box for a good week before I even unpacked it. I was intimidated. And nervous. And just didn't want to find the time to learn how to use it. But I did want someone to win one. So I opened the blasted thing and figured I would find a manual an inch thick. Instead, I pulled out the machine and the dies and matching cutting mats.
Hmm.
OK. I plunked it down on my cutting table and read the brief instructions. Since I use 5" squares often I decided to try that first. It mentioned the importance of having the fabric just over the cut shape area so I snipped some fabric to fit it. I didn't even bother ironing the fabric. Gasp. I know. I know. I totally know better. Just keeping it real.
Anyway, first I put down the die with the foam side up. Then I laid the said unironed fabric on top of the die.
Then the cutting mat goes on top of the fabric. And you push the whole die-fabric-mat sandwich up to the rollers and crank the handle and watch as it goes through the rollers.
Ta-dah! Two 5" squares and the remaining scrap.
"OK," says me. Let's try something harder. How about the drunkard's path die?
Cutting die. Fabric. Yep, still not ironed.
Cutting mat and roll it through.
Shazam! And this thing can handle six layers of fabric at once??
Sold. I get it. I see the possibilities. And I'm totally itching to grab a stack of fabric and start cutting.
After I iron it of course.
Wanna win one?

And I added you on Facebook...awesome!
At first, I thought, I don't want a GO! Now, after seeing so many of my favorite blog authors fall in love with it, I've put it on my must have list.
To be honest the only thing I have ever sewn is a button on a shirt! But I am searching the web high and low entering these contests because I want it so I can give it as a gift!!! My Mom is an avid quilter and she would love to have one of these (but could never afford it) She turns 50 in October and this would be a perfect present!!!
I would love the chance to win this, thanks.
That machine sounds amazing! Thanks for a chance to win!

I've been eyeballing the Accuquilt for a bit now--but then, I'm a gadget kid!
Um, yeah!! Awesome! Please & thank you :) What a nifty, swifty thing...6 layers? sweet.
I love your site and I'd love one of these too!
I've eyed these too! I'd love to get to play around with it, since cutting is by far the most annoyingly time-consuming thing about quilting.
I already like you on Facebook!

Hi - I really want one of those Go!Cutters. Cutting seems to be the hardest part of quilting.
Thanks for hosting this giveaway - and finally opening the box.
I have such trouble cutting accurately. This would be super duper helpful.
Giving away gifts and still making me giggle. I will iron my fabric if I win. L,A-
Wow, that does look easy. I'm like you, I figured it was more trouble figuring out how to work it! lol Anyway, it's a great giveaway. I already like you on Facebook. Have a great weekend!
AMAZING! I understand what you mean about gadgets. I'm the same way. Although I'm also making most of my mistakes in the cutting party of my projects, so I'm willing to figure it out! :) Thanks for the great giveaway
