I love my home. My house. My garden. My neighbors. So I thought I would share a small corner of my home. A cozy place. A place to gather.
This is an area in the playroom. And really it is just an excuse to show you my latest quilt. (Like how I did that?)
And to show you this mini quilt that my friend Dolores made for me. I have a thing for fields of hay. Especially for hay rolled into these big bales. I find the image so soothing and peaceful. And this quilt gives me that same feeling of calm every time I look at it. Thank you DeeRoo. Thank you so very much.
A small corner of my home. But one that I love very much.

I'm totally loving HSTs right now - and combining Katie Jump Rope with white to make an HST = fun fun fun!
Thanks for the peak Dana! Now I know that my Neptune quilt only needs a binding, not a border.
So cheery and bright! Those wodnerful HSTs, so versatile. I love it - and are those clothespins holding it up? So do you have a line mounted to the wall or did you nail the clothespins up?!?
DeeRoo's hayfield is lovely too!
I love seeing round bales of hay too. I was just commenting to my son that they make me feel happy for some reason. Glad to know other people feel the same.
Thanks for sharing a little corner of your world. I love little corners!
Comfy looking. Cute batik quilt. Funny, I also saw that pattern in Hope Valley. I like how a small wall version looks in the Katie. Thanks for sharing your space. :)
Thanks Kiddo! Funny...supposed to be at the OBX right now but of course Earl came a courtin'! Ugh!! But if he hadn't I may have missed it...except of course for your thoughtful email!;) xoxo
Oh...and I love that a wee part of me is in the playroom!;p
GREAT corner!
I love how colourful that corner is! And I love your latest quilty addition and the one your sweet friend made you!
The field of hay bales reminds me of my parents place. The hay right now is baled and ready to go. It's a sight that always reminds me of home ;)
no,no, no dana! you MUST stop making all these gorgeous quilts. i can't even find time for mending... when am i EVER going to get to ellerie's quilts!!!!
must repeat: school starts soon, school starts soon, school starts soon....
really, i love it. the hay bale mini quilt is super cool too. been thinking about putting MY dana-made quilt on the wall too, but i like sitting under it (when it's not 90in the house), so i'm not sold yet....
I can see why.......and new pictures of the girls up too :0)
I hope you have many happy hours there together.
Happy Sewing
very nice...i love the little mini quilt with hay rolls. never saw them until we moved here. i remember on the news last year, some woman in wisconcin was trying to load, tipped over and squished her. then, the next week another woman was killed by one, beware of angry hay rolls :-) the temp has dropped and i better get my buns in gear and quilt one of my many tops so we have quilts to sleep under this year. things are lookin good at the old red barn as usual. keep up.
We are quilting twins. I got the same quilt from Deeroo, but MY hay is on the other side. Love your Katie jump rope quilt. I have some of that and have been wondering what to do with it. Kids back at school? Mine start next Tuesday and I'm sad. I loved our summer together. Your house is perfectly you- still want to come over for tea:)
i can see why you love it so much. have a wonderful weekend ...
What a wonderful corner of your life! It looks so cozy, and nice spot to be. Love the quilt's on the wall ...makes it even that much more comfy! Thanks for sharing!
I'm coming to visit some day!:D Such cute quilts!
(I love big hay rolls too- up in our neck of the woods in the Pacific Northwest, they're often wrapped in white plastic so they look like giant marshmallows scattered in the fields, waiting for the chocolate and graham crackers...do they wrap the hay where you live too?)
Hello Dana. :o)
Thank you for bringing us into this special corner of your world. :o) What a cozy place to be. :o)
I adore the photo you have of your daughter on the wall. So sweet to have something that size! :o)
I hope that you are having a wonderful Labor Day weekend.
Sincerely ~ Tricia
That is a great corner.
