Beginning.
Middle.
End.
Epilogue. These blackberry kolaches were my first ever attempt at this Czech and Slovak pastry. They were delicious. And I was proud. So proud in fact that I made sure my family knew how proud I was. And I may or may not have requested each of them tell me how proud they were of me. I mashed together several recipes that I found on allrecipes.com and just went with it. More kolaches are in my near future and once I have a perfect recipe formulated I'll share it here.
Until then I shall suffer the anguish of research.

Oh, yum! Do share it when you get it tweaked to your satisfaction. LOVE your new header!
Ooh, can't wait for the recipe! I figured out over Christmas that my hubs has never had a kolache before, which is a complete shame! My grandma used to make them all the time :)
Those look delicious! There's nothing wrong with being proud and "reminding" your family that they should be proud too. ;)
Dana,
I have been making kolackys for over 30 years and this is the recipe I use:

If you twist my arm, I just might share my recipe for kolache dough to be made in the bread machine. Actually, as soon as I can get it together, I'll post it on my blog. If you are interested, let me know!
I thought I smelled something wonderful....are they as good as they look?
Happy Sewing

Hi, I am Czeck and live in an area with a large Czeck population. I have several Kolache recipes that I've personally experienced so if you want me to send them your way let me know.
You must have them perfected before our trip-wouldn't that be a good breakfast before dancing : )
Love the ferris wheel quilt!!

YUM YUM I have A cup of tea ready
Hugs Mary.
can't wait for a recipe. Baking is my weakness..
Yuh.Umm. One bite of these may just send me over the edge. Will keep checking back for the recipe.
And then, when I bake them myself, I'll be sure to steady myself against the counter...to counter my weakness for fruity pastry delicacies!
Thanks for sharing. And for the continued inspiration :)
Oh these are also good with sausages in them.
I always thought these were Polish. They always have them at the Polish festival in St. Louis, made by cute little old Polish women.
Ahh, Kolaches! The fabric my family is made from. They are a whole lot easier to eat (warm from the oven) than they are to make!
