March brings a soon end to the bleak grayness of January and February. March teases. And promises more.
March shifts something in me much the same as it does in my yard. Instead of hunkering down and opting to stay in, I push up my sleeves and start picking up branches that have fallen from heavy snow. And picking pesky weeds that survive the harshest cold. Fixing arbors. Mending fences. Pruning peach trees.
Replacing greenhouse plastic.
Ordering seeds of brandywine, mortgage lifter and fourth of july. And knowing that soon the greenhouses will be full of those and more.
Thank goodness for March.

Oh I am so ready for spring!
looks like we have more in common than just quilting. don't know if you know this, but my husband's family owns a greenhouse & nursery and we do the farmers market every year. things are in full swing at the greenhouse now.
Yes, and: it's my birthday month!!! =-) I can just imagine the inside of your greenhouses in just a little while! I love March, too.

Ok, super jealous of your greenhouses! I hadn't seen them before. I wish I had one, just so I could start my own veggies a little early!
Love it! Dean just planted all of our fruit tress a few weeks ago. Now we are working to clear away our mulch pile so he can put the greenhouse up & then make the chicken coop. The girls can hardly wait to get chicks!
I love March too! My daughters turned 18 this month!!
Oh I can almost taste those heirloom tomatoes!

yeah...my fantasy is to have a greenhouse, that way i could start things in march and maybe by june be able to put them in the ground, why bother, grow them in the greenhouse.
my first doll is almost complete...i just need to dress her. i think i am going to knit today to take a break from the doll. i have never clothed one before, not an art doll anyway, so i am still thinking. plus, these socks are kool!
our weather up here has been wierd, it snowed for two days buts its 30 and its melting, it makes such a mess...pretty much our winter has been like this year. they say we are going to have a real cold spring, whats new. semms we go from winter to summer. not complaining. but it will be nice to see my grand daughter on kauai this summer! i miss her so much and she has grown so much.
oh well, have a dye class with two gals from wisconcin on thursday, they are coming here. better go knit while i can. check out the doll if you get a chance.
i saw the mortgage lifters at my nursery. what are they like? i may pop some in.
we've never had any success starting seeds - they come up, but never do much after that ~ any words of wisdom?? please???
I'm so with you on this. Winter is the pits. My mood has improved considerably since I started taking Vitamin D and the weather has turned warmer! I'm envious of your greenhouses!
