Gone to the dogs I tell ya

We've had these little critters for over two years and we love them fiercely.  But sometimes they give me a real run for my money.  A fit.  A trying day.  A pain in the tookis.

Please someone tell me why dachshunds feel compelled to bark at everything and nothing.  All.  Day.  Long.

Sheesh.

That does seem to be a dachshund trait... and stubborn! But they're just so stinkin' cute!

You're not alone, my Dalmatian also barks at anything, nothing, the wind, shadows you name it......

I am there with ya on that one---have 2 boxers. One is a pup that will get the "old fart" (my 7 yr old boxer) going any day of the week! They are expensive yes indeed, but you can't say no to their sweet faces:)

My two Doxie's bark a ton too. Drives me NUTS, especially when I'm trying to get a child to take a nap. But they're still irresistable. =)

Yes, my experience with weiners is that they are a little spastic. Especially if they are in pairs, and even more so if you have a pair of siblings. Their cuteness makes up for it though!

I must admit, barky dogs drive me batty. My golden rarely barks so when he does I know something is up!

Your dogs are so stinkin cute though! I love mini long-haired doxies. Can't believe I've been stalking you for over two years....

I wish I had a cute little dog to love. My husband says NO!

Did you teach your dog how to give that "evil hairy eyeball" ( the look I give my kids when I want them to behave!)
Those little faces are awfully cute.

No likey the barky! Our lab would bark once in awhile (usually warranted), our golden retriever would NOT bark, we even tried to teach him. Once in a GREAT while for some strange reason he 'might' bark. I prefer the quieter dogs. ;) To each his own though. :D

They are so stinkin cute. As far as the 5% of the time they drive you crazy... It could be worse. http://sohappytosew.blogspot.com/2010/12/he-peed-on-what.html

My parents have these kinds of dogs too. There's are shorthair and they howl with the coyotes at midnight. It could always be worse:) Enjoyed talking to you my friend.

Hey, I'll trade you a Dachshund for my Terrier mix. He barks, digs and tears up fabric! Ugh!

LOL! I have a long hair dapple. She gives me the "I don't think so!" look quite often. But, alas, she rules the roost, and the basset hound as well. The barking? I tried to yell 'stop, cease and desist' you name it. But when I brought my voice down and said 'it's all right, I see them too' - she reverts to just the "bart" ( a single bark, I guess). I have NEVER had a dog that I love so much. Scarlett O'Hara Willouhby Denton is 12 years old and still runs me round the house, the yard and occasionally up the wall!
