Grainy view

Still no desktop computer so it's a grainy view for here.  And that statement has me thinking about the last couple of weeks.

A grainy view.

That's all I really provide here anyway.  It's true that usually the actual photos themselves are clear and sharp. (well most of the time)  But I get the powerful position of editing exactly what . . . and what does not . . . appear here.

And with that powerful editing capability comes the ability to make our lives, my children's lives, appear to be flawless.  One perfectly beautiful dream after the next.  Almost as if the hurried days of getting to and from school, spreading homework across the kitchen table, taking the dogs out yet again in the freezing cold cause they are barking like they gotta go, bickering over the fairness of who did what first and whether or not it's fair, having to pick up rooms, clean up toys, make beds or clear the table don't exist.

For those things do.  And many others.

But here it is with gratitude that I take time to notice the beautiful.  The dreamy-ness. The perfectness that is our life.

Love your blocks!

I love my ability to edit and focus on the lovely. It makes me, personally, realize that even with all the crap that goes on, (we all should know that everyone's lives have it now and then) and the sadness that happens (watching family and friends say goodbye to a dear child years too soon was this weeks pain) that life is beautiful. It's fleeting and it's beautiful.

Dana...I believe that most of us realize that what we see on anyone's blog is what we are allowed to see. Sometimes, at that precise moment in time. In my opinion...blogging is all about sharing what we, the bloggees, want to share. Whether we are sharing for sharing's sake, or sharing for applause for a job well done...or a myriad of other reasons...doesn't even matter. Those who read (follow) our blogs do so for whatever reasons of their own.

I, for one, follow you because I love how you share such profound thoughts with your beautiful photos and simple words.

Thank you for sharing...and for letting us see the glimpses of your life.

we all have perfect lives on our blogs, don't we? Your little star blocks are very sweet. Love the centers. Your swoon quilt quilt lives up to it's name. It is beautiful.

Of course we know all that crap goes on in your home just like in our own lives. But the beauty is that when you have a glorious moment no matter how simple it is your are grateful.
You take the pleasure that moment has given you and share it in a very personal way that touches our souls.

Happy Sewing, big hugs

!!! Your blocks are fabulous! I have to admit that I love being able to edit some of the stress out of my life - So when I look back at my blog I remember the simple successes and the things that truly make me happy! but sometimes I just wish some of 'those' blogs would show me the ugly to make me feel better - LOL! (you know, like that picture of me Summer took at SS - LOL!)
Have a great weekend!!!

Good Message here: Sometimes, ya just gotta say no to cropping. Just this passed week a relative shared some very old photos with me of family. What were the best parts of these photos? Well not specifically the people in them but the antique cars in the background, the totally 50's pearl tiles on the wall and the Schlitz Beer cans on the dinner table, its the things that you normally crop out that make the photo golden to others - generations to come! So dont crop out everything!

Oh perfect. So well - and eloquently - said. I need to remember to let more of the 'every day' creep in to my blog now and then. I think you do it so well.

Love the swoon quilt too!

Did you know you can buy an Apple camera adapter set and load all your canon pics on your ipad? Its $29. Although the game is way more fun! :) And... the quilt is dreamy!
