Police Escort

This true story brought to you courtesy of my front driveway and my local law enforcement agency.  I asked them if someone called them to wrangle the cow.  They said no.  I said that I get cows back into the pasture at least once a month without cars, flashing lights or sirens.  And I pointed out that I do it all by myself.

Without backup.

Surprisingly they did not find this fact amusing.

But I did.

That cow knew just where to go. What a gentleman to hold the door open

Hahaha! I love the 2nd pic...so guilty!

Reminds me of herding cows at home when I was younger. One in particular- she hopped the fence like a deer but she was my mom's favorite so it took a couple years before we finally said that's enough. :D

LOL! I used to have a horse who was a total escape artist. People called the cops on her all the time - and they just called us to catch her. I don't think I've ever seen a cop herd a cow back to where it belonged!

There is a How Many Cops does it Take joke in there for sure!

And their wives probably think they're out fighting crime, lol.

I envy you such a view from your home. I hope to be in a rural area some day. Granted, I only have to drive a mile or two in any direction to be in a rural area, but I still see houses all around me when I look from my driveway.

That's awesome!
There was recently a story in our local paper about a goat who'd gone nuts and wouldn't let a lady out of her house. The cops came and one tried to bribe it with his lunch. I'm not quite sure how it all turned out. Good thing we have a lot of donut shops in town. Maybe they all went out together?

i have occasionally wished i had back up trying to get the dog back in our yard, though she is a tad faster than a cow ;-)

Well y'all have very well behaved cattle in your neck of the woods. Around here, open gate means fling your head and throw snot and run in the opposite direction.

Your tax dollar at work!
They look a little scared of the cow, you probably should have shown them how it is done :0).

Happy Sewing

ah..... but the difference is...... you're prolly not a pistol packin' momma..... and that's why the poor little cowie comes all by herself for you....
she's afraid of the big iron on his hip. so backup IS required....
no???

I so agree with Tara. Those three guys had an easy time getting that cow back in the pasture because of all the times you have wrangled them back there all by yourself. I bet she was wondering where you were today and missed you during all the excitement.

Oh, too funny! That cow must have felt really important. Did they frisk her?

My first customer at our new bird bath was an errant cow from down the hill. She slurped up all the water in one go. Poor birds! lol

We looked out our window recently and saw about a dozen cows running through our yard. :o) Needless to say, they needed to be cornered and returned. So, ya, it made for an event. :o) Lots of four wheelers ended up here and they did their best to return the cows to their own home. :o) I have had so many fun events since moving to the country, especially being raised a city girl in Northern California! :o) Now I am in rural Mississippi! :o) Too much fun! :o)

How do they get across the cattle guards? Our friends had a bull named Baron. Well, he liked to get out and visit the neighboring lady cows. One time too many. He was delicious.

I am a chicken. Ages ago, Sus and I drove past a bull walking along the highway. That is thousands of dollars of investment, so we stopped at the next farmer's house to tell them. While a big investment, they can also be rambunctious. Better experts that two suburban kids.
