Garden in the works

The ground has been tilled.

And the soil has been amended.

Now the treasure trove of garden starts from our greenhouses are ready to be planted.

Hello there tomato forest.

All our vegetables, herbs and annual flowers were started back in early March.  I ordered seed from Hometown Seeds this year and am impressed with the high germination rate from every single packet of seeds.

I mean look at that lettuce!  As packed as it is in there I know that every single solitary seed must of sprouted.

Something tells me that my fingers will be dirt stained for a good many more weeks to come.

You're so far ahead of me! I got the soil tilled, but I didn't start my seeds till a couple weeks ago inside (don't have a greenhouse), so I'm going to be behind. It's time to get out and get my rows ready, though, because I've got to plant right after Mother's Day. Love the flowers! Foxgloves?

Well somebody has a green thumb! :) Look at that lettuce. I built raised beds a few years ago and I've been really pleased with the soil. However, our water isn't good enough for the garden to grow well without rain and last year we had the driest (ie:no rain) and hottest (over 110 regularly) year on record. Our jalapenos were HOT, but not much else grew. :(

Oh, you're so lucky to be at planting stage. Love the look of those plants you have ready to go into the ground.

The panting date where I live isn't into the middle of the month, or later. Patience, I know.

Enjoy your dirt stained finger time.

We are almost drowned out by rain for the last month, my plot is soggy, it's damp and I am behind. Happy planting! :) Send sunshine!

Ya know I bought one of them foxgloves and I had to stake it today cuz it was getting quite droopy. I also added some better soil. We shall see;)

Happy gardening to ya!!

Wow that is beautiful. I'm so jealous! My husband is a farmer by trade-it's how he makes his (our) living-and we have the worst garden in the county. In his defense he's very busy planting crops when it's time to do the tilling/planting in the garden and that's something I can't do (well I can plant, but the tiller is too much for me to handle). I can't wait to see how your garden progresses over the summer!
