And so we hiked

Everyday has some place to be. Something to do. Soccer practice. Or games. Clogging. And Razor is training for a marathon which requires lots and lots of time running. On this day, he called me over lunch and suggested we pack sandwiches and go for a hike. Oh, I said. It is our only free evening in forever. Wouldn't you just rather stay home? Maybe, he said.  But the skies are clear and we will be able to see for miles.

I'm so glad we hiked.

How cool is the fire lookout tower! When I was little, growing up in SC, we had dear friends that worked for the Forest Service. Every time we would go to their house, which was a lot, we would climb the steps all the way to the top and just sit and watch/look at everything until the end of the day. So absolutely cool! Especially when there was a storm and you could see all the lightning strikes and clouds moving along. Thanks for stirring up those memories Dana! : )

Some of my favorite times have been when I get home from work and Lukas, who has been watching the clouds, says "Let's head out to the coast/hills/etc." And so we kinda blow off dinner, or at least what was planned for dinner, and just head out. Sure I get wanting to stay home and be lazy (more often than not when given a chance this is what I pick), but it really is those times that we just go that I love and remember.

Nice to see you and your family sharing a little bit of that. It looks lovely!
