Starry patchwork

I pieced this quilt top last fall when I was away with friends for a sewing weekend. I had already made the twenty star blocks and just brought lots of blue prints along to place the stars on a field of scrappy patchwork.

With a few pops of red. And red binding.

And jaw dropping quilting by way of The Back Porch Quilters.

Simple patchwork is my favorite but I'm loving the movement that these stars give to it.

Lovely quilt! I especially love the scattered star blocks. I find simple patchwork can be therapeutic, especially when you're away for a sewing weekend and trying to catch up with friends.

This quilt feels so classic. The pops of red are perfect! And a big wow for that quilting.

Takes me back to Grandma's house, when my little sister and me(even littler) slept on down pillows and a quilt like this:-) I spent a lot of time looking at every block!
