Project update

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I had five quilts in progress and I asked you to hold me accountable to get them finished up before starting anything new. Since that time I've finished three which I've even documented here. That means that I still have two in the works. Well, make that three because I started a Halloween quilt now too.

Though, honestly, all I really want to do is work on this National Park Centennial cross stitch. You can find it here. I'm not a cross stitcher. Well, I guess I can't really say that because I'm making this. And I'm not so patiently waiting for the mailman to deliver a new Halloween cross stitch kit too.

What are you working on?

I love your flying swallows blocks! I always wanted to make a scrappy blue and white one. What am I working on...all knitting. I'm on sock 1 of a pair, about 2/3 finished. And a sort of western/sarape/blanket feeling striped shawl/wrap with fringe. And I just ripped out a sweater I was 3 skeins into and started a different pattern I like a whole lot more. So, I'm like a pig in slop, loving every minute! Oh, and I'm going to Bennington VT next week (I'm in NY right now) to see the Jane Stickle quilt again. She's on display at the museum every Sept/Oct. This'll make the 3rd time I've seen her. And we'll go say hi to Jane in the cemetery. Pay heartfelt respects to one of my muses. Happy Fall!

Great work, Dana! With the quilting and the cross stitch! It's fun to change things up a bit from time to time, hey?

Great job on the finishing and starting the stitching - I love to stitch and have been doing more of that than quilting lately! I keep seeing pics of the national park sampler and I am about to cave and join in!

Oh, my goodness, if five quilt projects were all that I had . . .

I'm actually trying to finish up a bunch of projects where the blocks were either finished or they were finished and waiting to be sewn into rows. I just finished two of those, so the quilt tops are done, and I have three more. But I also have four baby quilts for nieces and nephews that must be finished in the next couple of months. Two are ready to be basted, one has blocks done, and one is still in my head (though I have the fabric already). That was a long list. I'm impressed that you're down to two . . . er, three.

Cross stitch was my first love! And my first artsy/craftsy venture. I was a freshman in college and I made my momma (Who I was so very homesick for) a set of hummingbird pieces.

I still have cross stitch ornaments for our Christmas tree that my husband(fiance at the time)and I stitched before we were married.

Alas, I rarely cross stitch now. Carpal tunnel...but I can still crochet! Yay!

I love all your work. Sigh. I have pinterest board called "2016, the year I quilt" Ummmm....not so far.
